odd choice ....
I guess I meant - how involved or even aware of it the band are. I'd say not judging from the lack of current Genesis logo. I've no doubt it isn't a bootleg.
would the current logo make any sense? the recording was before WCD...

wonderful - thanks a lot for this detailed work. "Duke" records? Wasn't aware.
I remember it was all a bit too much back then and I partly lost my interest. So when Phil officially left, it was a suprise for me and I was curious what's gonna happen next. Watching the album launch in Berlin (?) was enjoyable, the album as a whole a bit dull. Still I think it wasn't a mistake, but maybe they should have invested more time?
Unique indeed ...
I wonder why Simon is not that often visible / filmed?
Looks like an enjoyable experience for everybody. Thanks for sharing!
Duke today
For obvious reasons
I won’t start asking about the status of the Board Tapes project. Sad that this didn’t happen.
When in Rome on Blu-ray please ... and why not some limited fan releases, like a CAS show or something else? They have always been weird regarding this stuff ...
Probably blaming him for the failure of CAS.
well, the commercial failure was limited to North America. Even Phil was losing ground there with Both Sides and after that.
CAS deserved a follow up, Ray had a contract for two albums. They obviously did everything to make this period disappear (see Sum of the parts), so it’s no wonder they didn’t want Ray in this recording. This was just after the CAS tour ...
Although I tend to be optimistic, I have a bad feeling this tour won’t be happening at all and we will have some sort of documentary instead, about the last effort of the band that was stopped by Covid.
They have filmed the rehearsals, so that’s an option.
I still hike they will find a way to make this tour happen, but I have my doubts. Packed arenas with fans from all over Europe and even beyond ... not sure.
so, this article seems to back my thought.
Why would everybody remix the stuff again in Dolby Atmos? The number of people who have a 5.1 system is limited and only a small percentage of them might have (or want) an Atmos system.
Also, most albums were never intended to be mixed in 5.1, so upgrading music to 5.1 is one thing, but Atmos?
I don't see this coming for music.
The good thing about releases is: no-one needs to buy them, but isn't it a good thing there's so much stuff available to chose from? Imagine nothing would be released, we'd be complaining for sure.
Since I do have the Budapest live album, I won't buy this one
5.1 is the past.....Dolby Atmos is the present.
not sure. I don't think Dolby Atmos will be the dominat audio format for music. That's something for movies.
Sad news ... I took note of his health problems via facebook years ago. Wonder whether or not Genesis themselves will post something?
Thanks for the link to the int. with Mike Kidson!
LOL - well that’s ... cool somehow!
On the other hand, it makes you wonder how they did their research. Jonathan Dann - did they get in touch with you about the Anon stuff before they published the article?
I also would contact various fan sites ...
Still a nice story anyway
Don’t think it will be a problem in the UK, but it’s unrealistic to think everybody who owns a ticket can attend (personal reasons left aside).
we will see ...
Farm rehearsals (without Daryl) for this are on the 2001 Songbook dvd extra's.
really? I never noticed that. I was always wondering why they were doing this stuff on the Songbook DVD
anyone noticed both Phil and Peter have released their last album (not talking bout soundtracks etc) with new music in 2002?
True
But a new Collins album seems more unlikely than a new Gabriel record. At least we know that Gabriel has been working on new stuff for years ...
That is... quite the cover.
was my first thought as well. Imagine you work for the record company and someone comes up with that cover image. I mean ... really?
71, multi millionaire - the last thing I'd be doing would be work or trying to please strangers.
you’ve got a point here - but then again, he always did stuff and worked on things we never would have guessed. I also think he wouldn’t do a real concept album like The Lamb, but I am also sure that a new album, if there is one, will not just be a collection of tracks
Thank you for this interesting review! I never heard of Nick before but this review (e.g. similarities with Brand X etc) made me curious.
Seems that Steve is also a fan.
Thanks. Looks like a nice addition to my collection
