To those of you who were quite young when you bought your first album (like 10 or 11 years old).
What was fascinating for you? And how important is that album for you today?

listened to Leningard by Billy Joel the other day .... fits here as well
I have created another poll, asking which album was the first one you ever BOUGHT
Well, we have the favorite Genesis album poll, but I'd be interested which album was the very first you have bought?
Might be interesting, since we most likely became fans in different eras of the band.
Would also be nice to read something about first impressions and how you'd value your first Genesis album today!
My first one was Invisible touch. I was young, I thought it was a great album and couldn't imagine anything better. Genesis were successful, which was at the time a proof for quality (to me). From today's perspective, I still like the power of this album, particularly Land of confusion, TTT and The Brazilian.
Does anyone have one (or more) of this official bootleg series and can tell us something about the quality? Looks like an interesting release ...
I bought it and have started reading. So far it’s interesting, without revealing big things. But then again, Steve’s an open book anyway as he communicates a lot with fans
Take me home
Inside out
Long long way to go
not a big fan of this album, but these tracks are always worth listening
I really like can’t find my way!
then survivors and we fly so close. It’s a strong section on the album
Itat obviously
Then Hand in hand and You know what I mean
trouble is there are so many great tracks on this record !
Hi folks ...
I was listening to a couple of Genesis Revisted live stuff recently and also bought Nad’s latest album, Regal Bastard.
I am still not quite sure how good or bad Nad is. Quite obviously the Genesis stuff is challenging - no wonder he sounds different on his own albums. But for the Genesis material (even the early Hackett stuff, like Icarus Ascending) his interpretation is sometimes good and sometimes some sort of out of focus. I tend to believe he doesn’t know how to sing the Genesis stuff from time to time and then he tries and changes etc.
Ray Wilson did Carpet Crawlers and he pretty much nailed it. Same with Kershaw and The Lamia.
So in a nutshell: do you think Nad was a good choice, is there something you’d like to hear him sing or is he not your cup of tea?
I have also decided to be part of this. And I hope for a 'heavier' album, like She.
I never was aware how good The Conqueror actually is until one of the Gallaghers mentioned it on an interview.
then Am I Very Wrong and In The Wilderness.
Strong album, like the mood on it. especially the title track is outstanding!
I quite like Happy the man
then Run out of time, On the shoreline, Do the neurotic, You might recall, evidence of autumn
they did actually release quite a lot good b-sides etc.!
I live the track Garden of remembrance. Such a stunning and emotional ballad
my copy seem to be on its way .... curious about what Steve will reveal and what not .... (I can imagine that his ex-wife won't be in the focus ...)
Don't think he will stick to that title after 500 years or so since the last album
I don't really care what it will be called, let's just hope he will finally deliver something!
I have no intention of sitting in judgement about close to the original they manage.
same here. Although I am pretty sure he won't deliver a top performance (regarding his voice) I am really curious how they will do it!. So let's see and then talk again after the show(s), whenever hey may take place
Hey ...
has anyone seen this new (?) PG tribute band yet?
Indigo - A Peter Gabriel Experience.
Some videos have surfaced on facebook
I like the album, although it is probably the weakest of his first four solo albums. Production is indeed something that could have been handled better.
Favorite tracks:
The steppes
Slogans
Hammer in the sand
