Not a popular view these days, is it?
I suppose the 'prog' fans are a dying breed... or they just can't be arsed anymore.
Sorry if I'm being a pain, guys'n'gals, but I really have no reason to be on this forum other than my love of the... legacy

It's a mystery to me that people should bandy about all kinds of caveats regarding this staggering piece of music-making from genius-level 20-somethings while harboring approving views of any cut out of their investment fund era
Joint account? That sucks.
...or just (semi-)retired? How old is he again?
70.
At this point, the very notion of street cred may very well be moot!
As he should.
Maybe he's not Amazed anymore....
...by the whole music biz thing?
Oh, you're one of those fans, are you?
A Genesis fan
Emphatically NOT a Sugary Remnant fan.
(Although not a er... fan of the 'fan' connotations.)
Can't deny that
I'm obsessed with Sarah Longfield's Disparity.
Bit of a genius, this gal is.
What makes you think they lack pride in their legacy?
Because that legacy was carved in stone circa 1977, with everything after that being (literally) gravy
Oh, of course. I'd no more listen to Unquiet Slumber For The Sleepers on its own than I would Home By The Sea, In The Glow Of The Night or Lover's Leap.
I think it's funny, though, that Steve complained about not getting what he felt to be a fair share of the writing credits and then, after the band acquiesced, he left anyway!
Probably realised a fifth wheel he'd always be...
I know not those Home by the Sea and In the Glow of the Night thingies you speak of, but I get the sentiment
It was done only to placate Steve Hackett who was complaining that he didn't get enough writing credits on the album.
Indeed. Strictly speaking from a musical point of view here.
Speaking of irrelevances : to think of what might have been had they had even a modicum of pride in their legacy
As it is/seems to be: cash grab and late years ego boost. Might as well have Ariana Kardashian or BeyonZ as guests while they're at it.
Welcome back, and congratulations on finding a community of intent, so to speak.
It's not easy to make real friends in today's asinine, rapacious world.
Eleventh Earl of Mar, Blood on the Rooftops and Unquiet Slumber For The Sleepers (+ ...In that Quiet Earth - severing those two makes no sense at all)
I love this album unconditionally, bar 'One for the Vine' (cloying and pointless pap).
