It's one of the songs I could live well without when it comes to concerts, but it's also one of their key tracks from the later period. For me, it also opened the door to their earliermaterial!

Another one I've never seen before. This version sounds a bit "unfinished", it lacks some power, doesn't it?
I don't know if you've heard and seen it, but a few days ago one of the internet users added this video to the network. This is an acoustic performance by Genesis Follow You Follow Me in April 2007 at a concert dedicated to Ahmet Ertegun. I like the version of this song very much, it's better than in 2000. We see Tony playing guitar in this video. I recommend watching it, because it is another unique piece that we can see - I haven't seen it until today. Link below:

Never saw this before. thx for posting!
It left me cold when it came out, but I eventually rediscovered the album a couple of years ago. Tracks like "Uncertain Weather" and "The Dividing Line" are really good and I still wonder why "Anything Now" wasn't included ...
Hey everyone
After the TLD tour, I sort of fell into a post-tour-blues-state. I didn't listen to Genesis-related music a lot, it felt a bit sad to realize it's really over (although they hadn't been around for 14 years or so).
Now I'm enjoying the music again, have wonderful memories about the shows I saw and I'm looking forward to the next PG album
Did anyone else experience something similar after the shows this spring?
I hope they'll do a few continental European shows afterwards. Always great to see them live!
What an awesome performance that is!

But don't let an inferior youtube channel, who has leaked an inferior copy confuse you.
TGA
inferior copy? It looks quite good...
Tony Smith is commercially orientated....
But the band would certainly be in a position to say "no" to a live release.
In Richard Macphail's latest "Radio Rich Pickings" Tony Banks appears not to rule out a future release though....
TS is their manager - so he deals with business options
I believe they all said we don't need a concert film, since they did that plenty of times in the past and the set was not that much different from 2007. Nevertheless, Tony Banks seems to regret not filming the London shows. But in the end there won't be a miracle. Something that wasn't filmed can't be released, simple as that! They certainly won't use the screen-footage.
Only thing possible would be an extended release of the documentary with a full show as an extra disc - since we all know that was filmed.
Is it just me or is this rather disappointing?
"Duchess" from the latest tour and also the stripped down "Lamb" version, that I enjoyed a lot!
Display MoreThere are also songs that are not favourites and I am surprised they played them live:
All In a Mouse's Night
Say It's Alright Joe
Me and Virgil
Like It or Not
When did they play "Like it or not"??
Presumably he is referring to a UK release of the PBS doc. I would be happy to have this as part of a blu ray set comprising the When in Rome concert, and the Come Rain or Shine doc. Given the stature of the band and their longevity, I think we have been poorly served by Tony Smith over the years. If Steve Hackett can put out high quality videos of his tours, which are on a much smaller scale, I can't see why Genesis couldn't. The excellent When in Rome concert was put out on DVD only. Come on Tony Smith do keep up, everything is in HD now. That none of the 2021/22 shows have apparently been filmed shows that Tony Smith has lost the plot.
I can understand they didn't film it. The setlist was pretty much the same, the market is different now. On the other hand, it probably was the best stage show they ever did. But they did tape the rehearsals, so maybe we will see something at some point.
Duchess is my (probably obvious) choice. I also thought No Son Of Mine was strong during the later part of the tour.
The Lamb, Mama, Home By The Sea - and Domino
Some time has passed ... I saw the first and third show in London and enjoyed them both. The first one was a bit difficult for me, for some reason I was really emotional. The final show then was more like a bittersweet farewell for me. I smiled more than I was sad. But of course it really was sad to hear Phil say that this was their final show. Same with the "Peter Gabriel is in the audience" part. There was this "get on the f''''' stage" moment.
In the end I was happy they didn't do it. They ended this tour as they have started it, just stronger. And it was a goodbye for Tony, Phil and Mike - Peter and Steve have nothing to do with that. A reunion show could have happened 15 - 17 years ago and they didn't do it, so that chance is lost forever.
Thanks for the music, that will stay! And unforgettable moments during their final tour, which was so much stronger than I expected.
Nic did a great job drumming for Genesis - but his own stuff is really not my cup of tea. And I doubt many Genesis fans will like it.
This was indeed part of the Selling England tour, but things were obviously a bit dfferent back then (compared to later tours). Tracks might have been played before the album was released and things were not that static.
I have plans for one Paris show and two in Cologne! Fingers crossed.
... hoping those shows will take place
I am a bit surprised they changed the set for North America - I thought they would have sticked to the regular set from the UK. We all know they didn't do Jesus he knows me and Hold on my heart in the end, although it was rehearsed and also printed on shirts. Abacab was also done during rehearsals, so Misunderstanding was a little surprise. Nevertheless, I expect Duchess to be back in the set in Europe 2022 - or maybe Abacab? Who knows ... But I don't think they will do Misunderstanding in Europe.
