As a West Ham fan and supporter, I'm disgusted at the teams new signing of Kurt Zouma, who cruelly kicked his cat and slapped it across the face.
The RSPCA have removed his cats from his possession and an investigation is now under way.
Personally he should be docked and fined at least 2 or more months wages and the proceeds go to various animal charities. The West Ham fan group want him removed from the club. The team bought him for £25 million after Christmas.
You have to wonder at the mentality of some of these people. The Man U player who's being investigated for rape and threats to kill too, given how privileged they already are.
Plus, who's dumb enough to abuse an animal AND film it?

It was one of the last electric albums he did that I really liked.
The one thing that always sticks in my mind whenever I play that album though is the fact "Four Winds East" which is credited to Hackett/Fenner is really an uncredited cover of "The Supernatural" composed by Peter Green.
I'd love to ask Steve about that.
I agree about BTSH being his last good electric album (almost made my top 5!)

Thanks. Just have a slight cough right now. Hoping it doesn't get much worse. Avoided it all this time . Got it from Mrs Farmer who got it from the residential home she works at. They avoided all this time too , so done well . Hoping no one gets really ill. Mrs Farmer didn't feel good at all for for a couple of days , so we're glad we are double jabbed and boosted . She seems to be over the worst now. We slept separately and I boarded her bedroom up , just a flap to put porridge through . ( I thought I was quite thoughtful there) . It still got me. Let her out today . The washing up was out of hand anyway. Hoping that I won't be too unwell and will have a chance to watch uninterupted Olympics!

Cannot get enough of this show, very funny and great guests. This show does not justify being a half hour, way too short and you can tell the editing.
Not sure if you know, or if you can hear it anywhere, but this TV show is based on a BBC radio show called "The Unbelievable Truth" for which David Mitchell is the chairman.

What "newer version" is that? Is it the extended "Doll" from the 12" single, with the instrumental B-side version merged onto the end (5:55 total according to the label)? I never knew that was released in any digital form.
I agree that "Just the Bones" is one of the most "why hasn't this been released on CD?" tracks in existence. (BTW, the label on the 12" gives the time as 6:58, but it's actually only about 5:52.)
My mistake. I was playing the old copy and was surprised when Doll faded early, then thought "it must be the 1994 revised album where it carries on" but no, it's just the same. I'm remembering the 12". Sorry for raising your hopes!

First time I've encountered anyone (albeit online) who listed Till We Have Faces as one of their favourite albums.
It's actually one of the few studio releases of his I don't have (it fell under my radar at the time of release, and then afterwards I probably got a bit dissauded by the reviews, which seemed to be consistent across the board).
I listened to it last night, still found it fresh, ground-breaking, Prog in the true sense of the word, and very enjoyable. From the simpler stuff like "Duel" and "Let Me Count The Ways" to the Brazillian Drum-focused "Matilda Smith-Williams....." (nicely humorous) and "What's My Name", it's all nicely done, and the humour continues with Myopia (Brandenburg concerto inserted because he can't read the sheet music!) and while I can understand it might've been a bit "out there" for some, to me, it's what he does (did!
) best.Played the original version as I prefer the running order, but "Doll" is better on the newer version as it's a lot longer, and it'd have been nice to have the outtake, "Just The Bones" included, as it's never been released on CD, only the 12" of "Doll".

Barry Cryer, one of the funniest men ever to grace planet Earth. Back in the 1970's he co-wrote "Hello Cheeky" with fellow co-star John Junkin, and performed it with him and Tim Brooke-Taylor. Barry is the last of the 3 to go. He also, as a result of I'm Sorry I haven't a Clue, came up with "Hamish and Dougal - You'll have had your tea?" both of these on BBC Radio, and doubtless available on the beeb's website, probably with PC editing. He also, with Michael MacKintyre's father, helped write the Kenny Everett TV shows - bringing us characters like Gizzard Puke and Cupid Stunt (apparently the BBC were offered a choice of that name or Mary Hinge! Hard to believe they went that way way with it!)
RIP Barry, you were one of the best.

Er, I think not. The Santa Monica recordings are at the transition between Narnia and Carry On...., the organ is credited as "The Robert Morton Pipe Organ", which implies there has only been one, there have been several, apparently. As the album notes state, it was destroyed weeks later in a studio fire, which also destroyed the early recordings of "Octave" by the Moody Blues who were using the studio at the time. They decamped to Mike Pinder's studio in Malibu as a result.
Sampling wasn't available in 1977 when the album was made. The Santa Monica fairground features in the album inner-sleeve photos, and the recording are of automata, eg/ the "Bimbo the Clown" and other associated bits

Has anyone else got any thoughts about cancelling, Covid is going to around forever and as such we are going to have to live with it for the foreseeable future. I feel these concerts in the UK were cancelled pure and simple as a knock on effect of cancelling the European dates?. Possibly The group thought it isn’t financially possible to come over to Europe and the UK twice to do the same show so just cancelled the lot of them to do the one trip. There is nothing preventing any group touring England at this time, no restrictions on crowd numbers or anything. Isn’t this what the vaccination programmes are supposed to be for to allow us to live and do things we enjoy?. Obviously Musical Box have their own feelings on what is best for them as a group but delaying a show for three years after so much excitement at finally seeing this show in a couple of weeks really has disappointed the fans. I’m sure a lot of people were really looking forward to it after so long a wait.
Careful, the word "Cancel" has many meanings these days!
You are right, the vaccine programme was to open things back up. BUT, TMB are from Canada aren't they? There are massive considerations for them, partic. as they are not a rich, full-time band. Apart from the costs of Transcontinental travel to tour over here, there are the risks of cancellation due to spikes in any one, less vaccinated country, plus the likely costs of insurance that I'd guess any act has to take out due to the costs incurred if the tour gets stopped mid-tour due to any reason, covid related or otherwise.
I doubt they have taken this decision lightly, indeed, it might not even be theirs, it might be the promoter. At the end of the day, it's a first world problem. There are places where the knock-on from Covid is much more serious. I think we need to learn from the WW2 generation that sometimes life gets put on hold cos there are more important worries. They had to live with it for 6 YEARS!

Gary Waldhorn, most famous as David Horton in the Vicar of Dibley, but a workhorse of UK TV throughout his career. He turns up in episodes of many of my old favourites, including Space 1999, Enemy At the Door, where he played an occasionally recurring role, and bizarrely, the day before he died, he appeared on ITV4 in a 1975 episode of The Sweeney, where he played a scene with Liz Smith who was also in "Dibley" with him.

He doesn't want a jab though. He's a total anti-vaxxer through and through. He thinks you can purify contaminated water if you have pure thoughts at the time you drink it or something. I believe he said in an interview that this is somehow relevant to places like Africa (ie they don't need clean water, just pure thoughts or some bullshit). A vile piece of work.
It's lucky for him he can play tennis well, then!

Not a huge surprise. Once the original owner is out of the loop, people tend to "bend the provenance" of items to increase the price. Used to happen a lot with Mellotrons back in the day, so people would claim it belonged to "Crimson/Banks/Pinder/Lennon" to jack up the price. Very hard to prove otherwise unless you have serial numbers etc.
Buying from the original owner is the best bet, but even that can be an issue. Genesis believe they bought an ex-Crimson 'tron because they went to crimson's rehearsal room, and they almost certainly did, (Discussed elsewhere recently) but let's face it, anyone can carry an instrument into a building. A mixer, slightly harder!
As an aside, from your records, you might know this: The serial number of the first Genesis 'tron? Crimson's (that were early enough to have been sold at this time) were a mk 2, serial no 113, and another mk2, no 211.
Caveat Emptor, eh? (Probably Latin for "Empties your Wallet)
