Is it because the guitar riff never goes away through the entire track?

Sorry I pressed send by accident.
Maybe 2 medleys.
One delicate double 12 string bringing in elements of Stagnation, White Mountain, etc.
One big drum rhythmic thing bringing together Apocalypse 9/8, Eleventh Earl etc.
It is quite scary what they can combine.
By accident I have placed 2 Trespass songs together.
-
Hi there.
I think medleys could be used widely so as to fit in with the 2 hour format.

Re Leland Sklar and James Taylor.
Im sure they reunited with Carole King at the Troubedour show about 10 years ago.

I never saw Dire Straits on the Love over Gold tour. Obviously I have heard Alchemy a number of times over the years.
Just spellbinding to watch a magical band in their best incarnation. I have affection for the great songs of the first couple of albums and I do like Brothers in Arms still to this day.
But that album. That tour.

Thank you for that

However we cannot now change the set list!!
Genesis will perform two Epping Forests.
I suggest they could do an instrumental one like 'Dukes End' at song 2 and a fully vocal version with a group of cockney villains helping Phil in the middle of the set.

I think thefarmer needs to explain the significance of two Battle of Epping Forests.
One comes in second on the set list.
The other nearing the mid point.
Are they exactly the same?
Or is the song split in two.
It is a very difficult song to sing with all those cockney accents and characters.
Perhaps with Nic on drums they may change things a bit. Rumour has it there may be other vocalistics on hand to really project the song(s).
I think this is a very brave move by Genesis and I can only applaud thefarmer for revealing. I for one can't wait for the opening song Dodo/ Lurker which is a striking way to start.
Will they have the heartbeats opening intro tape from the Duke tour?
It is just so exciting.
Thank you thefarmer.

I am playing it through the day.
Some wonderful flowing emotional SW sequences.
Very synthesised like 1980s Numan
Some early Porcupine moments too.
I'm giving it 10 out of 10.
-
Maybe they might cover the old Presley tune...
Old Shep.

Thank you Phil for the information.
July 1974.
You need to write a book.
-
I have a bid for FGTR currently on ebay.
1973 according to Discogs.
Thank you about the cassette colour information.
-
I do have that Mark Jones book so I have been reading up about this.
My problem is trying to work out what the cassettes looked like in 1972.
Phil Morris has kindly photographed two different cassette labels. Which one was published first? Which one appeared later on.
I do not know.
My gut feeling tells me the cassette on the left appeared first
The one on the right appeared later on when everything was reissued with the release of a subsequent album. Perhaps Selling England. From a rarity point of view the earlier cassette should be worth more. Genesis were not selling massively in mid 1972. They were a year later.
I do have both cassettes. Forever on the search for early Genesis cassettes

I'm saving mine for a rainy day.
What a treat.
Thank you.

I have read Cixin Lui trilogy.
It took me about a month.
Tremendous stuff.
Apparently about to come out on Netflix.
I am a big Alastair Reynolds fan too.

My favourite prog band did a free Christmas CD last Christmas.
I hope this link works. Needless to say some of this sounds spooky scary Christmas. Very like a soundtrack.

Thank you Backdrifter.
Those Queen thoughts mirror mine.
Excellent flamboyant singer and terrible songs.
I have not even heard the first few albums due to the awful School disco 'we are the champions' . Some relative bought me Hot Space on cassette. Just awful.
Hated everything they did apart from Innuendo which I bought. On cassette again ironically.
In the last few years I loved Those were the days of your life. But I get to thinking that might have been a Freddie tune, not Brian May.
Brian May seems like a lovely bloke with a lookalike wife though.
