He plays 'The virgin and the gypsy!'
This is from Spectral Mornings.
My most favourite Hackett song. He has not played this before to my knowledge.
Very happy.

Don't forget the brilliant Testify title track which I once saw a pub do. At the time I had disregarded the album too but I re-examined after that.
Phone: No reply at all.
The letters: Abacab
Domino: domino!
Went to see John Martyn when I was 14 as we tried to see everybody at my home town. I remember in one week watching Whitesnake Barbara Dickson and Rita Coolidge. Was underwhelmed but loved the song, Hung up. So I have followed John Martyn over the decades. Some amazing songs and some terrible ones. But I still feel that the smooth slow band that Martyn had in the early 2000s were astonishing. Arran Ahmun on drums. Foss Patterson on keyboard. I saw him around that time and the combined Solid Air/ She's a lover 12 minute super slow live thing was magical in a ghostly ethereal way.
It was filmed by a lady in Ireland and it is on YouTube.
Sorry about that.
I'm new on the forum and just getting used to things. But I have now voted for Testify and Face Value.
Testify has major strengths from wake up call, come with me, testify: great first three. I also adore 'the least you can do', and 'can't stop loving you' . The newish remaster has fab live tracks too and another John martyny 'tearing and breaking'.
Additionally on a John Martyn extra there is a unique video featuring Phil on YouTube. 'Ways to cry'. I have watched this video many times recently and it just about sums up life for me.
Can I just say that I love Follow you follow me and I can't dance too!!
If there were to be a setlist from the Gods with any song from any tour but everything stuffed into 2 and a half hours then fyfm and icd would be there.
Testify for me.
Love the songs and production.
But Face Value also for sentimental reasons.
Back in late 1977 SH had a major emotional burn out with members of Genesis in particular TB and MR. Subsequent tours by Hackett reduced Genesis songs in the set so by 1981 there were none. But since mid 1995 SH has slowly built up a strong Genesis presence in the setlist with the marketing dream of Genesis Revisited happening about 8 years ago. SH has lived the dream and toured the world on the Genesis ticket.
MR is wrong. People don't really want Follow You Follow Me or I Can't Dance. I want Can Utility and the Coastlines or Eleventh Earl of Mar. Those were the songs I grew up with.
MR is correct when he talks about wanting to play some more of the classics but they would be an odd choice in the middle of a Mechanics concert.
MR needs to back off and let SH decide to do what he wants with songs that he moulded.
TB MR very quick to pour scorn and persist with petty public school issues.
I got a copy from Farnham 101 records.
They had another copy in the box at 4.40pm yesterday.
We can't dance: Knebworth.
2007: Paris.
That's it sadly.
