I think Turn It On Again, while it may be a predictable choice, would really get the audience going & say ' Genesis are back'!

At the moment it's Sky Blue, I Grieve & Signal To Noise. Popular opinon for once!
Out here whenever there is a case of clotting linked to AstraZeneca the media go hysterical over it. I had my first AstraZeneca shot and I'm fine. I suppose they are obliged to report these cases but it seems to me they make people more reluctant to get the vaccine.
40th anniversary today, so: Long Distance Voyager - The Moody Blues
As may be apparent I am on a Jethro Tull kick, just finished listening to the 20th anniversary box set & will now start the 25th anniversary one. These are my husband's & I am ashamed to say I haven't listened to them until now. I am going to get all the studio albums we haven't got (if I can - COVID is making delivery out here very difficult).

Nic has an American accent, not British? I thought he was a British guy.
I don't agree with him saying that as long as he can play the album versions with one drummer (he forgets the multi-track) is the same as live. Not true, in a live setting you have an audience who will feedback and loudly respond to drumming duos and the incredible sound. Not just a single guy, never the same dude.
Hasn't he lived pretty much his entire life in North America? So he will have an American accent.
That was hilarious. When he did the Olivier as RIchard III thing I laughed out loud. 'Contrary to popular demand Genesis have not split up'....
Very happy for those of you in the US & Canada.
I will be going when they come to Australia in 2022....
I have the Genesis On Track book. The author's bias is clear in that he dislikes Abacab & Invisible Touch.
Good question! I don't know, but today's loyal fans who are younger than 50 surely discovered the band through their IT and WCD hit songs. I am one of those fans. I discovered Genesis when "No Son of Mine" was released in 1991. During the coming year I listened to the band's back catalogue and quickly embraced the whole Genesis world. This autumn I will celebrate my 30th anniversary as an all eras Genesis fan.
I am the same as you but didn't start exploring the back (i.e Gabriel era) catalogue until 2015 after seeing Sum Of The Parts. I am now 60.
I got into them at the time, 1983, though the first 3 albums did leave you thinking "That's how Genesis would have arranged that" at every turn. Script is great, Fugazi, the follow-up has one good track, Assassing, and the rest is awful. Then Childhood's End and Clutching at Straws are great too, but after Fish left, I did too and got his first 2 solo albums. Vigil is very good and surprisingly varied, with very touching ballads rubbing shoulders with biting satire.
His next album was Songs From The Mirror, a covers album of mostly prog which influenced him, I Know What I Like being one of them. Question, by the Moodies, also features.
You must've heard Kayleigh, surely?
As for More Fool Me shaping Phil's solo work, yes, I could see similarity with the 3 slow tracks on Face Value.
Kayleigh was one of those songs which passed my by in that era. I probably thought it was American stadium rock like Boston, Toto, Journey etc so I never checked it out. I have read a lot about Script & Clutching At Straws so I may give those a go - also Fish's final solo album Weltschmerz is supposed to be good.
I love Another Murder Of A Day and Shortcut To Somewhere. However I must be the only person who has never heard any work by either Fish or Marillion.

*It hasn't been a very pleasant couple of days for fans of Liverpool (myself included), Manchester United and the rest of the Dirty Dozen. I just thought I would make a snarky reference to the fiasco.
I had my first AstraZeneca shot yesterday & will have the second one in 12 weeks.

no surprise really, although things are looking quite well down under.
But it's more than just a couple of shows there, logistics, people involved etc.
Let's hope we will be back to normal (or close to normal) this fall
Oh yes, I understand the logistics made it extremely difficult. I give Steve credit for not cancelling entirely. It still bugs me however that hordes of tennis players and their entourages were allowed into the country.
