Happy New Year. No matter how bad people say 2021 was I got to see Genesis and that made it the best year in years.
-
Here is me taking a little bit of liberty. The shirt I prefer is not in stock, but hopefully after the new year I will order myself one.

I'm not sure if you've seen this clip from Detroit 1986. The last part of Supper's Ready. It's awesome!

I slept overnight out the box office to get 10 tickets for friends to see the show. -
Genesis, then I put on Genesis, and finished the work day with Genesis.

I was blown away with the set list. I knew 80-90% possible songs but to hear Duchess, Dancing With the Moonlit Knight, and believe it or not that was the first time to hear Afterglow live. I like how they changed the medleys up too. I loved the melodic versions of The Lamb, Follow You Follow Me, and That's all.
Back in '86 I got to hear Supper's Ready prior to them replacing it with Afterglow.
Fantastic show!!! -
I want to thank everyone for using “spoiler” because I have not yet seen a set list.

I am going!
I plan to be at Harry’s Detroit (bar & grill) pre-show around 7pm. It is located behind LCA SW corner and 3 minute walking distance to the doors. There is parking too. -
There is no doubt The Musical Box is the best Genesis song. Period. See the period.?
This song has everything, with my favorite members, and music by Anthony Phillips included.

I'm going to list non-Genesis related here

My first introduction to Genesis was my older brother borrowed And Then There Were Three from is friend. I'm assuming my mom wanted to her Follow You Follow Me. Which I recall being my first song.
My brother's friend's older brother was big into Genesis. I do remember seeing Genesis Live in his collection and starring at the album cover while getting high. (mostly contact buzz I was 9 in 1978)
But it wasn't until 1981 when by brother bought Abacab and PG 3 from Columbia House Records (for 1¢) and he was explaining to me the "melty face" guy was in that band originally. I was familiar with Misunderstanding and Turn it On Again from the radio, but it wasn't until Abacab & PG 3I became a crazy fan.
I forgot to mention my brother told me the guy in the center wearing the head (inner sleeve of abacab) also played drums on the melty guy's album too. -
I am curious is anyone want to meet up prior to the Genesis show in Detroit?
I will scout out a few places and since it will be cold as hell it will be indoors.
ThanksJames R.

My favorite "bootleg" quality version of Eleventh Earl Of Mar / Squonk / Firth of Fifthfrom Genesis - (1983) Rosemont Horizon 11/11/1983. I believe I got that show from wolfgangs.com.
Eleventh Earl of Mar is a banger!
