I only have the first Archive albu, so this set might be a good addition to my collection. Not a die hard Ant fan, but there's some interesting stuff on this one!

Planning to be in London and Leeds. Not sure about Leeds yet, hope it'll work out for me.
Leeds didn't work out, hoping to be in London.
In addition, going to see them in Cologne and Amsterdam. Really excited now!

I take it this means you didn't like these books?
As they are birthday presents, I didn't have to spend the money. If I find I don't like them, I'll deal with it. A friend of mine tells me Volume 2 is just opinions, not facts.
both books are great and Mario is a respected fan / journalist.

This has to be Watcher … play it loud!!! What an atmosphere!
From the later albums I’d pick Behind the lines!

Wonderful interview. I am not the biggest Wilson fan but this made me bit curious. Obviously there’s a great vibe between Ray and the interviewer (chapeau!).
I also read the album review. “Almost famous” seems to be a simple pop song but the review puts that one in perspective of the whole album. So it’s always strange what single can do or not. And not always they are good examples for albums. Seems to be the case here…

The package looks really good (ok, the cover image is a bit simple but anyway…)
The new track is okay, nice to hear Steve sing that way. Will buy the album … as every Hackett rock album. But I must admit - his last really great one, imo, was Guitar Noir
-
I will buy it - I collect this stuff and this will add up nicely on my shelf. Whether or not this is a useful release for fans… not sure. I don’t care really. I can decide what to buy and what not. So they make an offer and we say yes or no.
But obviously most of us would be more excited about board tapes or a Lamb boxset (what happened to that by the way?)

Stubborn management will have to accept reality of UK and postpone all the dates. Or maybe they should just keep the dates and change the venues to Netherlands or Poland or Ukraine. Anyway, I expect an official statement next week. Late as always.
not sure if they are stubborn. If the UK will get back to normal 100% by mid September, the shows are possible. In the end they have to accept what the government decides. Numbers don't look that good right now, that's right...

uhhh
quite expensive. Are those box sets sealed / new?

"Modern Love" is my favorite - he didn't do many songs in this style

I am much more excited by this cover which refers to lyric abstraction.
does it? Please explain ...

Thanks for sharing this background story. A Wonderful Day... and Home Sweet Home have always been all time Gabriel favorites of mine and this album surely is underrated.
Agreed
and Indigo. What a great track!

Did they play Apocalpyse in Australia and Japan as well or only in North Ameria during the first leg?

16,000 new cases in the UK yesterday. If the tour goes ahead in the UK, I will surely be without fans from outside the UK. Can't see this happening now (travelling etc), but on the other hand, there are everal weeks left.

Hey community
Now that we know (thanks to the interview published here recently) that Steve will publish a new rock album in September, I wonder what your expectations are?
Based on his revelations, I assume we'll get some fast guitar playing, tracks that might be "harder" compared to previous albums and there's also a track with Nad doing lead vocals (that hasn't happened since GR2, I think).
I'm curious and looking forward to hearing the album. What do you think?

Saw this the other day as well - thanks for putting it here as well. Interesting bit of history. I also saw the video on ebay a while ago and was wondering what that might be (then I forgot about it and it was gone)

I went for No Way Out, Growing Up and Sky Blue.
My first impulse was Signal To Noise, but I think the big drama of this song is starting not to age well.
My second impulse was I Grieve. While it certainly is an outstanding song that depicts the numbness that takes hold when you lose someone very dear as well as the final reassertion of life, I cannot in good faith call it a "favourite" track on UP.
Had the question been for the most accomplished song on UP, the ones that do what they do better than the other songs do what they do, I Grieve would have been first by a long margin on my list.
No Way Out is, perhaps, my proxy for I Grieve. I like Growing Up for its general "life is a funny old thing" stance and the upbeat music, and Sky Blue for its meditativeness (if that isn't a word it should be).
very interesting examinations
actually there are indeed better versions of Signal To Noise, i.e. on New Blood or the one on the Tibet CD.
I disagree regarding I Grieve - that really touches me, probably even stronger because of the very personal experience related to that song. So it will always be a favorite of mine (although I am pleased he never tried to do that with orchestra)

Wonderful interview!
The answer to the "did you get feedback from the band" question
always wonder what's going on between them...
Besides that: what an unbelievable output this man is producing!

It's still my favourite of PG's albums, because it touches me in a way none of the other albums do. I think he must have been in a very deep/spiritual place at the time he made this album.
I know what you mean, this album has grown over time. I touches me more today than it did ... 30 years ago (ouch!)
favorites: Come talk to me, Digging and Secreot world.
I also like Washing of the water, but the Jools Holland version, not the Us album version

Another favorite of mine!
We do what we're told (!)
Mercy street
and Red rain
