Chester Thompson is well know to Genesis fans for playing drums during the majority of Genesis and Phil Collins tours. He also worked with Steve Hackett and played a couple of shows in Japan, which were eventually recorded for the The Tokyo Tapes live album.
Chester has also been doing his own music for quite a while now, producing a couple of albums with his Chester Thompson Trio. The trio has released three albums so far:

The current line-up of the trio is Chester, Frank Ricci an also Alphonso Johnson (who played bass on Phil Collins' much acclaimed debut album Face Value). The trio will play a cople of shows in the next few days and weeks, mainly in Italy:
