5 years of it – All About Us – Introducing the editorial team

Since the fan club was founded, we have been asked time and again to introduce ourselves in the magazine, because despite several fan club meetings, many club members were still unfamiliar with us. We did so on the occasion of the anniversary in December 1996… but not entirely seriously.

Name: Helmut Janisch

Date of birth: 18 October in the year of the shaggy dwarf otter (in the 60s of the old Balinese calendar)

Place of residence: The Farm, Rhön

Eyes: two

Hair: growing predominantly downwards

Job: „a bloody postman"

Hobbies: DTP, pin ikebana and deep-sea hiking

Favorite food: all vegetarian

Favorite drink: anything between 4% by volume and 12% by volume

About himself: I don't know what I would be without the fan club – probably a well-adjusted, normal average citizen.

On Peter & Bernd: The two 'southern Swedes' are afflicted with the same illness as me, and since a problem shared is a problem halved, I simply had to join forces with them. No, not only that – over the last five years, the 'old man' and the 'little one' have grown dear to my heart and are as much a part of my life as putting on 'Foxtrot' and enjoying it.

Helmut on the rest of the world: In view of environmental destruction, injustice and mistreatment of humans and animals around the world, one should use one's enthusiasm for something more meaningful than a fan club. However, we all tend to repress these things to a greater or lesser extent. Music is perfect for this. But we should never forget that there are more important things in life.

Date of birth: 29 September, long, long ago.

Place of residence: Branch office of it, Braunschweig, southern Sweden

Eyes: cunning and mischievous

Hair: quite sparse (but still thick for his age)

Occupation: Seehofer's assistant at a large cash register

Hobbies: family, obsessive collecting related to Genesis and computer tracting

Favourite food: good food and lots of it

Favourite drink: Duckstein on draught

About himself: A lovable mess with a great need for sleep and harmony

About Helmut & Bernd: Two guys who couldn't be more different. The tall, bearded, ingeniously creative almost-Bavarian and the slightly too short 'brewer' with a penchant for perfectionism or Waigelism complement each other perfectly and have long been part of our big family, which, however, would not function without the three ladies, Silvia, Susanne and Sabine.

On the rest of the world: The rest of the world is grey and yet colourful and flashy. It has become too narrow and yet in many places too wide and infinite. It is cruel and yet full of love. In conclusion, it is repulsive and interesting at the same time, and we have to live in and with it as it is.

Place of residence: Braunschweig

Eyes: blue-green (or something like that)

Hair: when the moon is full, I have it all over my body

Occupation: supplying No. 1 and No. 2 with their favourite drinks

Hobbies: hunting for rarities for my Genesis collection, music, The X-Files

Favourite food: As long as it's Chinese

Favourite drink: Guinness – foamy, not spilled

About himself: Sometimes I wish I could see things a little more lightly.

About Peter & Helmut: They're quite a pair! Without Peter, I would probably never have fallen prey to the collecting mania that has been part of my life for many years now. I've been through so much with Helmut that he's almost like a brother to me. Without him, there would have been no special encounter on 20 May 1993 …

He on the rest of the world: Everyone should create their own island, to which they can escape from this crazy world whenever they feel the need. On this island, which may consist of love for people or things of great personal significance, we can then escape for a while from stress, environmental destruction and wars. Everyday life will catch up with us soon enough.
