GNC Editorial 01/2021: 30 is just a number

You may remember: ten years ago, we celebrated our 20th anniversary with all kinds of gimmicks, greetings, self-portrayals, we let you have your say, showed great and embarrassing moments from 20 years of club work in a photo gallery, published an anniversary booklet and another fanclub CD. The website special is of course still online. Then, five years ago, there was a small update for the silver anniversary. Now it's thirty years, and for various reasons we have decided not to launch a big anniversary campaign. And that actually has nothing to do with Genesis being back on tour.

Of course, you will have questions… what will happen to all the projects we have been working on for years? Will there be an anniversary event? How long will we actually continue doing this?

30th anniversary event?

We are definitely interested in organising another event. Of course, we have also been affected by the coronavirus pandemic and have therefore not been able to make significant progress with the project so far. We hope that we will be able to revive the hub of the Genesis world in Welkers once again. However, there will be no announcement about this in the near future. We ask for your patience.

Tour database

Believe it or not, Peter is currently working with a club member, whose identity we are keeping secret for the time being, on a comprehensive database of all Genesis tours and shows. We don't know exactly when it will be finished. But Peter is now retired and has plenty of time for such projects… and there is another related project…

Website-Relaunch

The website is also getting on in years. We have planned another, perhaps final, relaunch. Given the wealth of content on the website, this project and its implementation are very time-consuming.

Phil Collins Recording Compendium …

… Steffen has already started on this, but it is unlikely that this project will be finalised on the current website structure.

Album of the month section

… oh dear, still Christian's trauma. However, now that Track Of The Week is slowly but surely coming to its natural end, the Album of the Month will also arrive. After all, there were a few tests a few months ago. We'll stay tuned…

Special for the Genesis Tour?

Genesis are coming to Germany in 2022. We were asked if we could offer a shirt for this occasion again. This brings back memories of 2007 – and a certain trauma. We're afraid we don't have the time for that…

CHRISTMAS prediction game to mark our anniversary

In December, we will of course be running our popular Christmas prediction game again. This year, it will be a kind of anniversary prediction game. To mark the occasion, there will be a special bundle to win: the long-out-of-print fan club CD It's Only Knock And Knowall from 2001 together with the digipak Anon: Pennsylvania Flickhouse from 2011 will be given to two lucky winners. When and how we will be giving away these bundles as part of the prediction game is still a secret. In any case, you should take part in the prediction game from day 1…

'Thank you,' for example. Not only are we still here, but so are you. You are still interested, and we still want to do things beyond the latest news and reviews. Many of you have participated over the years and supported the fan club with content and/or financially.
