Genesis: Next 50th anniversary boxset announced!

The Genesis albums A Trick Of The Tail and Wind & Wuthering are set to be reissued together in September as a 50th Anniversary Deluxe Box Set featuring a wealth of extras.

Following the deluxe box set of The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway, another box set is set to be released on 18 September. The albums A Trick Of The Tail and Wind & Wuthering, both released in 1976, will now also receive a 50th Anniversary Box Set comprising 7 CDs and a Blu-ray. A vinyl version is also planned.

The set contains both albums in new remasters (created in early 2026 by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios based on the original tapes). The Blu-ray also includes the 2007 remaster and the 2007 5.1 surround mix by Nick Davis. Dolby ATMOS mixes were also created by Hans-Martin Buff especially for the new box set. Buff is known to Genesis fans for his ATMOS mix of the Gabriel album i/o.

The set also includes the track It's Yourself and the three tracks from the Spot The Pigeon EP, also remastered from the original tapes. There are also two live shows: for the first time ever, the first performance with Phil Collins as lead singer in London (Ontario), Canada, is being released in full. From the 1977 tour, the show in São Paulo has been selected, which has been known among fans for years for its excellent quality.

The concert film In Concert 1976 (parts of which were released on LaserDisc) is not included in the set. Unfortunately, the original recordings were damaged and could no longer be processed.

The set, which visually follows on from the last box set, is rounded off by an 80-page book in which Chris Welch outlines this phase of the band. It also includes numerous previously unseen photos by Armando Gallo and Robert Ellis, as well as replica tickets from both tours. The exact contents of the vinyl edition are not yet known to us.

The official announcement will follow on Thursday.
