30th Anniversary of the Italian "DUSK" magazine

GNC congratulates Mario Giammetti and DUSK!

There are many passionate fans of Genesis and many interesting projects by fans all over the world. Mario Giammetti is undoubtedly one of the most important fan personalities when it comes to Genesis and their solo careers. 30 years ago, Mario founded the Italian fan club DUSK and published the first DUSK magazine. He himself remembers the editorial deadline of the first issue was 16 March 1991 - and a few days later the first copies arrived with the readers. DUSK is also the only Genesis fanzine that still exists in printed form today and which, with a professional layout and for some time now and with a coloured cover, is approaching its 100th issue with big steps.

While many others, including us, have at some point switched completely to the internet, Mario and his team still produce four magazines a year and their content is not only of remarkable topicality, but also has a richness of detail from which we also draw information and inspiration. Mario's claim to combine information with critical journalism have made DUSK an institution. For fans outside Italy, it may be annoying that DUSK is only published in Italian - for us, it is just another example that for Mario it's all about quality. And he has consistently improved it since the first issue.

And even though Mario has also written numerous books about Genesis (for example Gli Anni Prog / The Peter Gabriel Years), his name remains mainly associated with DUSK. On the photo you can see all issues of DUSK that have been published to this date (click to enlarge).

We take a bow to a first-class project and a sympathetic companion and friend - all the best for the 30th anniversary of DUSK, dear Mario - and remember: The Captain Stands (Not) Alone!
