Last year, Nic Collins (who was most recently the drummer in the live bands of Phil Collins, Genesis and Mike + The Mechanics) formed the band The Effect with Trev Lukather (son of Toto guitarist Steve), Steve Maggiora and Emmet Stang. They have since released two songs (Unwanted and Something Wrong). The band has now recorded an entire album, but there is no release date for it yet.
The Effect and Toto have now announced that The Effect will be performing as a support act at TOTO's seven shows in Germany this summer.
