Peter Gabriel: Another recording session for “o/i”

According to Tony Levin, another recording session with Peter Gabriel recently took place at RealWorld Studios.
At the beginning of the year, Peter Gabriel’s band held a recording session at RealWorld Studios. According to statements made by David Rhodes and Manu Katché, several new songs were recorded at that time (we reported on this). Peter himself also mentioned the name o/i for a follow-up album to i/o. He also confirmed that there would be a new album.
Things then quietened down a bit, but discussions picked up again around the time of the Dolby ATMOS event for The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway in October. In an interview with The Times (UK), Peter said that things were progressing well and that o/i could be released next year.
Now it has been announced that Peter Gabriel’s band recently met for another recording session. Tony Levin confirmed this in an interview and also said that the material was almost finished. He said that there was ‘a lot of wonderful material’. Of course, he couldn’t say whether it would become an album. Nevertheless he guesses that one would be coming and that it wouldn’t take too long. He ruled out concerts, as no requests had been received so far.
There is a reel with the relevant interview excerpt on Facebook.
