Peter Gabriel: Early “Shock The Monkey” demo on Bandcamp

Peter Gabriel has today released on Bandcamp what is probably the earliest demo version of the song Shock The Monkey.

This early demo version of Shock The Monkey, released today for the new moon, could be the first ever recording of the song. You only hear piano and Peter’s vocals and the recording was made at Crescent Studios in 1980. There are no lyrics, but there is plenty of Gabrielese.

Gabriel’s Full Moon Club on Bandcamp provides fans with at least three tracks per month and costs £3 per month. A credit card is required for the subscription. You can find the Full Moon Club here.
