Tony Banks and Peter Gabriel: Record Store Day releases 2026

Both, Tony Banks and Peter Gabriel have something to offer for this year's Record Store Day.
This year's Record Store Day (RSD) will take place on 18 April 2026. As always, the RSD wants to strengthen your local record store. Plenty of special releases and collector's items are offered on that day, mainly in store only.
This year, the Tony Banks set 7-6-5 is being offered as a 4LP-set, now simply called 18 Pieces For Orchestra. It contains all three classical albums Seven, Six and Five. It is basically a vinyl-edition of the 3CD boxset, that was released in 2024. Sides A, B and C contain Five, sides D and E contain Six and sides F, G and H contain the Seven album. The artwork was altered for this release. At the moment, this release is only listed on the Record Store Day UK website.
Peter Gabriel offers a so-called zoetrope 12" Picture Disc of his smash hit Sledgehammer. It contains the Extended Mix of Sledgehammer on Side A and Don't Break This Rhythm and I Have The Touch (Remix '85) on Side B.
Peter writes on his website: Zoetrope vinyl is a special picture disc, designed to produce moving animations when played on a turntable. The animation is best seen through a smartphone camera set to 30 frames per second (fps) or with a strobe light, rather than with the naked eye. This release features imagery from the award-winning Sledgehammer video, directed by Stephen R Jophnson. Disc design is by Drew Tetz and Marc Bessant.
