By chance, we also had the opportunity to interview Genesis' new drummer Nir Z at the Hotel Adlon in Berlin.
On 25 August 1997, Genesis presented their new album Calling All Stations to the European public at Alex in Berlin. The German Genesis Fan Club was there and also had the opportunity to speak with the two founding members of Genesis.
Since Phil Collins left Genesis in 1996, a lot of rumours were spread about the future of Genesis and a possible replcement. Even a comeback of Peter Gabriel was rumoured and names like Steve Hackett, Fish, Paul Carrack, Chester Thompson or Daryl Stuermer circulated, then Ray Wilson became the new singer.
The band had known it for three years, but it was made official only in March 1996: Phil Collins leaves Genesis to have more time to follow up his own projects. Read about the backgrounds here and also read the official statement.
In October 1995, an interview was also conducted in London with Glen Colson, who initially coordinated the Genesis Archive project.

In 1992 Genesis went on the We Can't Dance Tour, and once again everything became bigger and more gigantic than on previous tours.
In 1993 Genesis together with Pink Floyd and Queen played a concert at Cowdray Ruins. It was their last performance with Phil Collins.
Genesis released the second part of their live album from the We Can't Dance tour in January 1993. The Way We Walk: The Longs was mainly for the long-term fans of the band.
