New Release: VERA OSINA – "Ivory Moon – Live in Concert"

Vera Osina performs Anthony Phillips' romantic piano music – the Ivory Moon concert is now being released on CD.

As part of the International Piano Festival in Bad Wildungen in February 2026, the large number of visitors had the first opportunity to experience a concert exclusively featuring piano compositions by Genesis founding member Anthony Phillips. On the lovingly restored Steinway grand piano in the Wildungen Wandelhalle, the award-winning concert pianist Vera Osina captivated the audience with her virtuoso and sensitive interpretations. The complete live recording of this unique concert is now available in excellent quality on CD and as a digital album.

As the title suggests, selected compositions from Phillips' first piano album, Ivory Moon, comprising six pieces, make up a large part of the album, including the virtuosic Rapids and the musical-style melody Moonfall. The programme also offers a journey through the composer's extensive piano oeuvre, beginning with the wistful Sleepfall from his 1977 debut album, through the impressionistic Autumnal from Private Parts & Pieces, to the title track of his recently released album, Gemini. Special mention must be made of the four-movement suite Slow Dance, which, originally written for a larger ensemble, unfolds entirely new nuances in Todd Scallan's piano-solo arrangement.

With its versatility, vitality, depth and virtuosity, this album comes highly recommended not only to fans but also to those new to Phillips' piano music.
