Hi! I just stumbled across this site and I’ve sorely been missing people in my life to discuss my Genesis passion with! So I’m looking forward to enjoying this site an catching up on past posts. This one caught my eye because by pure coincidence I am going through all my boots collected in the 2000s. I’m browsing the Genesis torrent and movement sites to see what I might still be missing. One that sounds good is Live in Roma, April 17/1972 by TM productions. Haven’t seen it on the torrent site and it looks like yahoo groups is history. Oh well will keep looking I guess!

I understand all the reluctance of "re-forming" the band, but I must say that I think it's a shame that nothing will be done for the band's 50th anniversary. I saw the Yes 50th anniversary tour and I really enjoyed it, even if there are relatively new faces onboard. I would love to see Genesis do something similar, maybe with rotating singers/guitarists, to take us through their history one last time.
On the other hand, since they essentially dissolved in 1998, is it even possible to celebrate a 50th "anniversary"? That implies being together or at least active for 50 years!

Ah I didn't know Ant did all the work...makes more sense

OK this is getting silly now. I mean, I love Ant, but I just saw Cherry Red's latest release...a 5.1 mix of Field Day?? Really?? This is probably my least played album of his - it just feels all too "samey", one acoustic guitar track after another. I had emailed Mark at Cherry Red a few months ago begging for more Tony, but no response. I just don't get it. Surely a remastered Bankstatement would outsell Field Day?
Oh well, all I can do is keep my fingers crossed and wait....

I was on Ning... I quite liked it as well. Those were good times...where it looked like Genesis would continue on and were promoting things/updating things, etc....then sadly it just stopped

Added to your tweet. Hopefully we can gain some traction with this

Sounds great, jwckauman! I’d be willing to pay up front, even if they have to charge more than what they did for The Fugitive, say. I’m guessing Bankstatement and Soundtracks have already been remastered (stereo, at least), as they have included select tracks on the box set. So part of the work is done already?

I wonder if they would be receptive to some kind of crowd-funding arrangement where we could pre-pay for each new remaster?
