The songs you mentioned are indeed live staples, they gained that status through the audience's acceptance but with the exception of Throwing it all aways that has a clear sing along quality, the others could have been a toss-up, there was no… -

Reacted with to BillysNumber’s post in the thread Your favorite GENESIS studio albums (pick three).Reaction (Post)I can see the point that Abacab would be the 'bravest thing.' At least in terms of the newer things they introduced in that album (gated reverb, shorter pop-oriented arrangements, horn section, songs based solely around loops, etc.). Although IMO it… -

Reacted with to WinstonWolf’s post in the thread Your favorite GENESIS studio albums (pick three).Reaction (Post)I think Abacab was brave because they had to have known a lot of what they were doing would alienate their current fan base, but they did it anyway. While I agree that Me and Sarah Jane and Dodo had a bit of a foot in the past pretty much everything… -

Reacted with to Backdrifter’s post in the thread Your favorite GENESIS studio albums (pick three).Reaction (Post)I don't think anything they did was 'brave' but then it is a frequently misused and abused word in many contexts. I think everything they did was simply what they did, being the people they were.

I disagree with this, in particular the often-repeated… -

It would be surprising if they hadn't changed their sound in some ways given the context of that time.
They were still just over 3 years and only 2 albums since losing another key member, and those 2 albums clearly showed them in transition so by the… -

Thinking about it... the orchestral version is better. That might be what was missing .... -

Yes I have seen plenty (not too difficult, I live in Germany). We have also followed his solo career from the beginning and yes, he mainly plays clubs and theatres.
He did a Ray Wilson & Stiltskin only tour once (promoting the SHE album), where he… -
