Peter Gabriel: "Looking For The Happy (Bandcamp Loop)"

After a break of several weeks, Peter Gabriel has today made another work-in-progress version available on Bandcamp.
Looking For The Happy was originally released in August, and now there is finally a Bandcamp only version too. It's titled Bandcamp Loop and dates from December 2024. Peter and his team have this to say about it:
"This was one of those songs that began with a groove, originally a groove with a Latin flavour. The groove is always so important to me, if I don't feel it in my body, then everything is a whole lot harder. – There are obviously songs I write which are not groove based, but this is one where it clearly helped shape the song."
This Bandcamp Loop track is an insight into those early drum loops, that helped to shape the final song. The initial, very simple, loops were given structure by Peter and engineer Dom Shaw in December 2024, centring around the chromatic rise and hook in the chorus.
"I always try and look for grooves that are maybe not heard too often, or not so well known, and try and build from there."
Looking For The Happy (Bandcamp Loop) is now available in your Bandcamp libraries. You can find an article covering all versions of the song here.
Note: According to our information, following a few weeks during which Bandcamp was somewhat neglected, more updates are due to be posted on Bandcamp shortly.
