Thank you Christian for that wonderful review. I’ll post my impressions and some pics after the show.

Today I listened to Seconds Out for the first time in quite a while. Now I’m totally jacked up for Tuesday’s Steve Hackett concert. It’s great that he’s keeping all these wonderful classics alive.

Thanks Christian. I’m not at all familiar with any of Steve’s solo material so this should be interesting.

So I finally bought my ticket to see Steve here in Montreal on November 29. I was a bit reluctant at first but everyone’s reviews here convinced me to go. Now I’m super excited and really looking forward to it. I don’t know which setlist they will play for this show. I’ll post some pics and a review after the show.

It looks like leaving Genesis just cost Steve another 75 million.

That’s great. It’s an awesome show. You guys are in for a treat. Enjoy!

I find it strange that the band reunited for that one show to help Peter out of a financial hole, and that Peter never considered returning the favour by reuniting with the band for a tour or series of shows.

So, Genesis doing irony translates for you as pure dairy!
That sounds about right. lol 😂

As far as Genesis goes I’d have to give the cheese to I Can’t Dance. Jesus He Knows Me is a close second.

Achy Breaky Heart has to be the cheesiest song of all time. Hands down.

I’m curious as to why only some songs were blocked. If it’s a copyright issue shouldn’t they all have been blocked?

Here's a Youtube link to the fireworks show. I wish I could of gone to the show, it looks great. Some of the songs are blocked by Youtube. Ridiculous I know, but at least we get an idea of what the show was like.

On August 6 La Ronde (Our theme park here in Montreal) will be holding the grand finale to the annual Fireworks festival. This year the show will be a tribute to Genesis, with the show being set to Genesis music. From what I gather in the add, there will be a selection of songs from all eras of the band. Just my luck, I will happen to be out of town that weekend. If anybody on this forum is going, please post your review and pics after the show. Here's a link.

Some of the pre-show music must have been the same music played at the Genesis shows in ‘74. I Shazamed some of the tracks.
Frank Zappa - Stink FootMike Oldfield - Tubular Bells part 1
P.F.M. - Chocolate Kings
Alan Parsons Project - The Cask of Amontillado
Focus - Hocus Pocus
Some tracks even Shazam didn’t know. 😂

In the bloody cage was the Mama tour. Someone from the audience shouts out Play In The Bloody Cage and Phil shouts back Wait a Bloody Minute. It’s many years later after seeing that exact same exchange on the concert dvd that I realized that happened at every show on that tour not just in Montreal. We live and learn. lol 😂

Covid sure has given us a lesson in patience. Thankfully these shows have been postponed and not canceled. Looking forward to reading your impressions after you finally get to see them.

A masterful performance by The Musical Box, musically and visually. So glad that I went. I can’t say there was a particular highlight as I thoroughly enjoyed the entire show. Just a couple of things that stood out. It was another reminder of what a great drummer Phil was. His beat literally carried every tune. Peter only wore one costume that was the Slipperman suit. During Riding The Scree, at one point Peter and Steve leave the stage, and only Phil, Mike, and Tony were playing. A sign of things to come. I would recommend this show for any Genesis fan. It’s rather obvious why they are the only tribute band endorsed by Genesis. I’ll try to post some pics below.

So I haven’t bought my ticket yet but it looks like I’ll be going to the TMB show here in Montreal on Saturday. Today I listened to the entire TLLDOB double album. What a masterpiece it is. So ironic that Peter left the band after that triumphant album and tour. It could have spelled the end for Genesis.
