I think there's something to be said about the more subtle vocals at the end of this version. At first I missed PG's prominent voice at the end, but for this song it feels more suited. Sort've like how the guitar solo in the chorus of Signal to Noise got cut: my first reaction: "No!", but now I really prefer the song without it.

Lovely song, lovely vocals. The "For a moment..." part is particularly moving.

Olive Tree is definitely growing on me. There is a lot going on in this song. That being said, I suspect I will prefer the dark side mix coming out in 10 days or so.
i/o is really shaping up to be, on the whole, fantastic.

You mean the order of release on the full moons? - Well, that tracklist differs in more ways from it.
Yep. That change was the most jarring to me. But it's been confirmed as the correct track list. Time to rearrange my playlist!

I just saw this as well! Looks like a great album. The last four songs, still to be released, will make a spectacular end section, given their live versions. Playing for Time and The Court swapped order, unless the attendee just mixed them up.

Hello friends of the forum
After the session at WOMAD could someone who is attending please let us know what impression you got from the album i/o and if there is talk of a release date on LP/cd. Also could you let us know how long it is and which versions are Bright or Dark, for example.
I'm really keen as well to hear from WOMAD attendees on what songs are played, and any other context that is provided by i/o. I imagine PG might be in attendance for this?

I agree that i/o is turning out to be superb. Panopticom didn't resonate hugely at first, though with the dark side mix (and time) it has really grown on me. I now feel it's a very strong opening track. The Court and Four Kinds of Horses are as good as anything he's ever done.
For me, nothing will likely ever top Passion or Security (my two favs). That being said, i/o will fit nicely with the rest of his catalogue. I really appreciate the mature theme of many/all of the songs thus far, and there is a strong ecological component as well (the interrelatedness of life). As an ecologist, it's phenomenal to have my favourite artist make an album with this as a major theme. Super stoked to hear the entire album.

Here's another big fan of i/o. Live and Let Live, which exudes a similar life-affirming, energetic vibe, is something that's certainly going to be in my top 3 once it's released.
Indeed! In fact, I'm really keen on all of the remaining tracks. Live and Let Live sounds like a good final track, a nice summary of the album.

Have tickets for both Vancouver and Seattle. So pumped.
Prices for these venues were somewhat reasonable. It’s the insane surcharges (40%!!) that are especially ridiculous.

A phenomenal song. Beautiful lyrics, and the last few minutes are peak PG.

Fantastic song. Really digging the lyrics.

Definitely prefer this version. Listening to the WAV version on headphones. The bass and drums are much more prominent. Love PG's vocal bits right at the start, which didn't resonate much at all previously. The synths (Brian Eno contribution?) are clearer as well. Really curious to know how PG will decide on which mix to include on i/o.

Looks fantastic. Always love to hear more about the creative process, and PG is also taking feedback from fans re: what they might want to see. Sign me up!

When's the last time PG recorded anything uptempo?
I'm Amazing (2019) is a candidate for being up-tempo.

Folks are going with Panopticon, which a fascinating word/concept. Though it could also be "Panic to calm."
