Wow! I want it :) Guess I'll have to learn to play guitar to play this... :|

I just love the euphoria from that time: "The acoustic guitar with electric pickup will fade into the background eventually." *cue pictures of gravestones with guitars* - Looks like we are living in a regressive era then :P As much as I love the vibrance and life of acoustic instruments, I am right away fascinated by this electronic thing with its sounds and its possibilities. Sad that every attempt to create any kind of "electronic guitars" ran dry, there has been a bunch of similar things from the 80's (think of the Syntaxe and other midi-guitars) and each of them were only used a small number of times by a small number of players.

I can only speak for myself but for me this album has won an award for Worst Album Ever (Genesis-related). With flying colours, that is.

The most interesting thing about it is it explains why Abacab followed Duke, as you say in your review. I only listened to this album a few times (online), I remember each time I could barely make it through the whole album. Even worse, I could barely make it through any song. Awful album, yes I couldn't agree more.

I saw them last night! My first ever Steve Hackett concert. I am really impressed, I enjoyed everything. My only wish would have been the flute solo in Firth of Fifth would have been played on an actual flute; the soprano sax sounded very beautiful and fitting, just the flute would have been the original instrument and he could easily have played it. But that aside I was blown away.

I love that song. And I disagree about Ant's singing, on Invisible Men I don't like Ant's voice too much and I think it's a pity Richard Scott did not get to sing more songs. There's other songs Ant sang at other times when I like his voice a lot better. Anyways, Ballad of Penlee, yes one of Ant's best.

Weren't they left over from the reunion concert with Peter? On that one show they played the entire Supper's Ready, Back in NYC, the entire Musical Box, that short-cut Knife and a whole bunch of other fine stuff - a lot of Daryl never had had to play otherwise, so now as they were able to perform these numbers why drop them altogether.

    Beagle Music Ltd. - Daydream

Never knew about that song. Project (two producers with a pool a session musicians) has landed a hit through an advertisement spot (Like Ice In The Sunshine for Langnese) and tries to do a follow-up single, song becomes a trivial Sunday morning radio muzak thing, in need for a 12'' edit they let their session guys turn the thing into a real jam session after the 4:00 mark, guitarist comes up with a monster of a solo you'd never expect in that kind of song. One of the rare times both my 80's pop nostalgia as well as my admiration for skilled musicians is turned on ^^

For what it's worth, already two separate campaigns have started in order to raise awareness of depression and suicide, in memory of Keith Flint. The lesson I recognize in particular is: a) everybody goes through depression and suicidal thoughts at least once in life, and b) men are more likely to end up in the trap of trying to deal with it on their own. Been there, done that myself - "come on, it can't be so hard to deal with, I'm not gonna tell anybody, I don't wanna embarass myself". Worst mistake to do.

I don't know details about Flint's story, to be honest I'm not that keen on digging in public people's privacy, but it makes you wonder: someone who had that stage presence and seemed to be a cool, relaxed guy all time, in the middle of a tour for a new album close to a 30-year band anniversary... I mean damn. :|
