I might be wrong but I think the rhythm guitar in Illegal Alien is acoustic. Even if so, it speaks for itself Mike would only ever use it in that one song in the background in this period. And for 12-string, well, Tell Me Why has a very prominent 12-string guitar, one of the reasons I always loved that song. It reappeard then in Congo, though not as prominent.

Yes that's what I meant. I told you, I have a kind of mental blank with that album. I lose track of the tracks, which one was on which release etc. Ah well i got one of them though!
We had a discussion in the old forum, it seems to be a unique "quality" of that album that everybody has a hard time to keep memory of its tracks and particularly its song titles. No other Genesis album is hard to keep to remember like this one.

I love this song even though the lyrics are very heavy. I still count it as Ant at his best, and it is a perfect closer for Wise After The Event.

Why is this thread revolving around one off-topic comment? The old forum had an unwritten rule: morons get ignored.

Ok, major change in the last few days. I have never loved cool temperatures and clouded skies more than now. Right now it is trying to rain.

We’ve had constant sunshine and extreme heat since end of April. Very unusual weather for this part Europe. Cooler weather is announced for the weekend.
They kept announcing that for weeks - the heat wave will be over within 3 days! - I am in doubt, I already fear it will go on like this till the end of October and then bam, we will get a cold wave and skip autumn. Well, let's hope for the best and expect the worst, as they say. At least last night there was a nice thunderstorm on the horizon.

Sure enough this will be a boost of confidence for Belgium. They made it to the 3rd place and they beat England. That's a lot.

Here in Germany it does matter, it's not important but it lifts the mood. When Germany lost the semi-final in 2006, they won the 3rd place instead. The game for 3rd place is a lot more relaxed, it is just for fun but at least we had won a game in the end - so much better than losing the final.

Black or White - Michael Jackson
Lady in Black - Uriah Heep

I never cared much about the Lamb album in the first place, 'it' is not particularly bad but it doesn't stand out either. The album version is quite lifeless imho. However the Three Sides Live version improves that song by 100%, I really like that live version.

Oh dear. That's it, Germany is out. They sucked so bad this time.

My usual on-the-way-to-work breakfast: a butter brezel and a bacon cheese croissant from the bakery right by the station I always leave.

Wow, thank you, this is cool! Quite some nostalgia seeing this

Best Steve Hackett album ever. Compared face to face with And Then There Were Three, it could not show more clearly what a loss Steve was for the band and how liberated he was after leaving.

Not exactly matching what you addressed, but you just reminded me of this:

Being the youngest child in my family I was given a lot of records my parents and older brother and sister didn't need any more, meaning a bunch of kids stories and fairy tales records and stuff (Disney's version of The Jungle Book, a couple Pumuckl episodes, etc.) as well as a random collection of music - marching bands, some classical stuff (Also sprach Zarathustra on a 7-inch, the Nutcracker Suite on a 10-inch...) and even some pop music (Alan Parsons Project's I Robot). I also had a bunch of cassettes with kids stories stuff.
The first record I bought for myself I am not exactly sure which one came first, it has to be either way Supertramp's Crisis What Crisis or Supertramp's Even In The Quietest Moments or Pink Floyd's Animals.
The first CD I owned I was given as a birthday present, it was Donald Fagen's Kamakiriad; the first CD I bought for myself was Robert Miles' Dreamland. And I even remember the first CD maxi singles I bought: Chicane's Offshore and Sunstroke.
