Where is this picture from Dave Kerzner showing “New Duchess”? Is this the Sound of Contact keyboard player that went to the 2007 New York Rehearsals with his friend Simon Collins? Was he invited again to these rehearsals?
Paul
Hey,
anyone saw the image by Dave Kerzner of Genesis rehearsing back in January? If you zoom in, you see "New Duchess" displayed on his iMac.The only photo I've seen is of Tony. It does appear to say New Duchess. I'd post the photo but I have always had trouble posting photos on this board.

I wonder which documentary I've seen him in, then, where he talks about getting the call from Tony Smith whilst he's making a drink in his studio? Is that not in Sum Of The Parts?
Incidentally, there's no need to type in capitals; you can italicise the words you want to stress without shouting.
I saw the TV version. I can only presume the DVD release was longer. If so, how much longer & how much extra material was there? The version I have lasted 90 minutes.
Apologies for capitals. I try & avoid it normally. -
Okay, lets have a little reality check here.
Fact Number One: Blood On The Rooftops is as much Phil as it is Steve.
Fact Number Two: It was Tony Banks (the man you Hackett fans think of as the anti-christ) who suggested they play Rooftops when the band last went out on the road.
Fact Number Three: You have no evidence that Genesis don't want to acknowledge their former guitarist.
Fact Number Four: Ray Wilson appeared in Sum Of The Parts.
I have no recollection of Ray Wilson appearing in Sum of the Parts AT ALL. Al I remember is a brief statement about Phil eventually leaving. If there is a longer version of the doc which includes Ray, I stand corrected. But that is not what I saw.

Reports that came in before the announcement about the tour suggest North American tour dates will be coming later. If 2007 is anything to go by, we should get them by July 2020.
And Australia by late 2021, perhaps.

I have no doubts Nic is going to be great with this. He's been great on Phil's solo tours.
The real surprise for me is Phil planning on doing any drumming at all. I'd be perfectly satisfied even if he didn't play, but I'm pleased he's even considering it since I think that implies he's physically felling a bit better.
I think North American dates must be coming at some point I just hope the mad dash for seats won't be too brutal...
Phil is brave. It was a shame he sounded sick. I hope he will be alright .... alright enough to take this thing to Australia eventually. But I'm sitting here wearing my Land Of Confusion shirt, with my Abacab mug, thinking about that explosion I had after watching Together & Apart & thinking - this can happen.
Here is the Guardian article. The comments are closed. Some of them are remarkably uniformed.

Hoorah Genesis reunion on the cards....not sure if Phil Collins is up to it though, his voice is very frail, seems not to have improved much either from his numerous solo gigs over the last few years either.
Also getting a ticket will be fun, all the PC ones got bought up electronically by touts in seconds. Hopefully they might use newer ticketing technology to stop that and have names attached.
His voice was fine in Australia and I had no problem getting a legitimate ticket. He wouldn't be doing it if he didn't feel up to it.

As far as I've gathered Phil lives in NYC nowadays. Tony and Mike may have only visited him there, as old friends do. Then they may in addition have had a meeting or even rehearsals there. I hope that is the case. Tomorrow we will know!
I thought Phil lived in Florida.

Following the FA Cup at the moment and I have a horrible, uneasy feeling it all might be falling apart.
Arsenal 1-0 West Ham
Sheff Utd 2-1 Norwich
Southampton 1-2 Newcastle
Burnley 2-1 Tottenham
Chelsea 1-0 Everton
Man Utd 0-1 Man City
Barnsley 1-1 Cardiff
Charlton 1-2 Middlesbrough

I do not want to assume anything about this but if it happens Australia must be included. Please. We missed out last time. I can't believe I'm writing that. Now... keep it dark.

Phil, Mike, Tony and Nic plus Daryl and some of the legacy roadcrew, were in New York City for rehearsals recently (January).
My source confirmed to me last October, that Phil spoke with him to confirm Genesis were going to reunite.
TGA
I knew they were in New York because I saw the photo of them at the basketball game. But.... this is ... big news....
