Wonderful album! There are some of the best tracks Roachford has done in years on Twice in a lifetime.
My favorites: High on love., love remedy, Gonna be the one, So long

Well, well...
the album has its moments, but as a whole it seems to lack something. I didn't expect anything like Dimensionaut, but probably something more ... "new"?
So real is a great track, though!
I like Phil's drumming with Brand X. Quite expensive, this set. Will it also be available as a digital set?
Well, well
Phil’s In The Air Tonight got some sort of sale boost caused by YouTube ... look here
Following the discussion in the Collins album poll thread here,
I was wondering what you think about his track We Fly So Close?
I remember that I was a bit surprised when I first heard it. It wa slong, very intense and had this strange combination of acoustic and electric guitars (playd on keyboards?) and the drum machine.
So what do you think? Good, bad? Too long? mood?
We Fly So Close may indeed be one of his most underrated tracks, such as Both Sides as an album. When the album came out many years ago, I was in a really strange mood. My frist longer relationship didn't work anymore and I wasn't too pleased with my job situation either. Some family issues on top and I found myself in a strange mixture of frustration, lack of hope and looking for the right way. Both Sides had this special "down" feeling and it quickly reached my emotions. I will always like this album, but I would never say it's his "best" record. It may be his most important record for me.
Some track names are wrong, please correct that!
why not stick tongue scheme Harold introduced with his Favorite tracks polls? (Genesis albums).
my choice
Hang in long enough
I wish it would rain down
Find a way to my heart
Just an assumption - isn't that "sigaleeeeeoh" or whatever it was and has been over the years just a melodic something without and meaning or source?
Mercury did a similar thing with the audience.
I assume it came into Phil's mind and then it simply stayed, just like the laughter on Mama or stuff like the word "sussudio"
Sounds like a nice teaser for the album. I got his U-Catastrophe album, which has some good tracks so I'll think about getting the new one as well.
Thx for the interesting review. Was wondering whether or not I should get this album. I quite like the re-releases series, but I am more into his "band" albums. So would this be something for me then ....? Any thoughts?
I think Mike also said the show won't be longer than 2 hrs??? Can't find where, probably in some magazine?
Still wondering why DUKE isn't ranked higher in that list. An important and great band album.
I gave The Road a fresh listen the other day. Apparently there are some great track on that record, i.e. I Don't Do Love and Heaven Doesn't Care
I came across this video the other day. Quite interesting for me - I am not a musician, but the way Nick explains this stuf is pretty amazing.
Watcher of the skies, The cinema show, Down and out, I don't care anymore and Take me home.
Check this out here:
She'll be waiting is a nice little acoustic track. It's one of those tracks where I wonder how they would sound with a full band. I think Ant has many great tracks that could be "more"
Has anyone seen the short film "Calliope" from the 90ies? Phil was part of this !
White Mountain is my favorite, a grower.
The obvious choice is The Knife
Then Dusk, wich I appreciate more and more
Guitar Noir, Darktown, To Watch the Storms and Beyond the Shrouded Horizon are the ones to get. If you can call those recent.
As for Defector, I like the whole album, including The Show.
Darktown! I like the mood of it.
Haven't been listening to Defector for quite a while now, perhaps I should
There were two shows in Berlin in 1990, and they surely have recorded both of them.
Just realized how cool "Another record" is. Haven't voted for this track, but it's really something else
