So sad to hear this - Richard was a lovely, lovely man.
I remember the very first time I heard of him so long ago now, on the rear of their 1973 live album.

First couple of minutes reminded me of a Steve Hackett track.. maybe Steve's guitar could have elevated this song to more than a score of 5 from me?
Of course I had to compare the lyrics with Tony's bands earlier bash:
The Serpent Said
In the silence of the night, a serpent shape
Moves its way across the stony floor
In the comfort of your life, the serpent said,
You know that you could have still more,
Picture where you want to be
The door is open wide
Don't you really want to know?
Don't you want to know how it feels
To see if it's all worth trying?
You want to know how it feels
Don't you want to rule the world a little bit,
Who to help and who to leave to swim?
You could better everything, the serpent said,
In your own peculiar way,
History would honor you
No matter what you did
Don't you really want to try?
You want to know how it feels
And see if it's all worth trying
You want to know how it could feel,
In the silence of the night, you lie awake,
Turning over in your mind the words:
If at first you lack the nerve, the serpent said,
You could always try again.
And now left upon your own
Has nothing changed at all
Do you really want to know?
You want to know how it feels
And see if it's all worth trying
You want to know how it could feel,
To be the one.
The Serpent
Dark night, planets are set
Creator prepares for the dawn of man
You're waking up, the day of incarnation
Said you're waking up to life
Images he made to love
Images of gods in flesh
Man is wonderful, very wonderful
Look at him
Beware the future
Here is my world and it's waiting for me
Paradise before my eyes
I am alive in a new born world
This heaven will always be mine
I'm waking up, the day of man has come
I'm waking up, the day of man has come
And God created man from dust
With a soul inside his mould
And God created womankind
The vessel of Satan's hold
Creator made the serpent wise
Evil in his tempting eyes
Man is wonderful, very wonderful
Look at him
Beware the future
Here is my world and it's waiting for me
Paradise before my eyes
I am alive in a new born world
This heaven will always be mine
I'm waking up, the day of man has come
I'm waking up, the day of man has come
Dark night, planets are set
Creator prepares for the dawn of man
You're waking up, the day of incarnation
Said you're waking up to life
Here I stand, a child in a lonely world, oh no
Watch the serpent tempting me to evil
The guiding hand will help me on
The guiding hand will help me on
The guiding hand will help me on
The guiding hand will help me on
And my final pick - one that describes the UK!

Captured in a frame forever
A face in a faded photograph

I'm sure we've done this before, and people posted their fave half dozen or so Ant songs, but I think it was on the old forum?
Which songs by Ant do you like best?
Yes, I was looking for that info too - Is it available anywhere I wonder??
Love this track:
Sorry, can't get behind this one!😢
Loving this new release!
The production is sublime - Ant has certainly come a long way from recording on an oil rig in the North Sea...
The fact that Ant only has 1.26k Youtube subscribers saddens and delights me.
Sad that out of the millions of worldwide music/Genesis/prog fans there are so few subs to Ant's channel.
Delighted that for me, for many, many years Ant's music has been an almost secret source of delight and aural pleasure..
👍👍
QuoteSoliloquy For Sylvie is the other piece created with Quique. He plays the nylon solo while Phillips lays the synth strings underneath. It is possible that both pieces with Berro Garcia come from the same session in July 1994, four of which had already appeared on Dragonfly Dreams (Private Parts & Pieces IX) and Extra Pieces III.
Soliloquy for Sylvie is the final single taken from Anthony Phillip's new collection 'The Golden Hour: Private Parts & Pieces XII

Question, who would win in a game of chess out of the classic line up inc Ant?

Brilliant! - Was thinking of the members pre - Ray - but I agree!
Genesis: (In their heyday)
Which member was:
The best footballer?
The toughest scrapper?
I pondered a few things about them (inc Ant) , non musically.
Anyone know the answer have a opinion?
Also, you may have questions of your own to pose?

'I want more lead vocals on our next album guys!'
