Not only that. He has spent his entire adult life recreating the photo in various ways, and apparently has a tattoo of the album title.

Weeks ago I had a dream that I was looking at the set list. I didn't recognize any of the song titles, nor did I see Digby.
Interesting, they must be playing all new songs.

Well remembered! I don't recall exactly what I said but it was probably along the lines of sourdough toast too often shattering like glass and feeling like it was going to lacerate my mouth.
That's what it was! The description was striking enough that it struck in my mind. Interesting about the quality and process by which it's made. I've noticed the thing about big holes too and that can be irritating - a big glob of butter/jam can fall through and result in messiness.
At some point the whole world will be sourdough.
Haha. Now all I can picture is a huge ball of bread flying around the sun.

I just received an email from the Genesis website hyping the tour. It included a brief article about the bass pedals and guitars that Mike uses on stage, an ad for the CD linked to the tour, and a clock counting down to the first show (insert pun about Counting Out Time here).
Anyway, these next few weeks... it is almost like being in the waiting room.

Very sad. I knew they were getting on in years but hadn't heard he was sick. A true legend, what a career.

You are contemplating smearing a French patisserie in town with blueberry jam? Boy, they must really have annoyed you!
I'm gonna need a bigger jar!
-
This, except bramble jam on sourdough toast.
Woah woah woah. Toasted sourdough? If memory serves you weren't a big fan back when there was a brief "what kind of bread toasts well" dialogue here.
At any rate, it sounds delicious. I had a nice strong black coffee (beans from the local roastery) and a banana. I also have a fresh plain croissant from this amazing french patisserie in town that I am contemplating smearing with a little blueberry jam we picked up on a farm in Maine.

I often feel a link between NIN and Genesis, and this song is no different. A few NIN songs channel Mama's spareness, atmosphere and rage. Also: I Don't Care Anymore was Trent Reznor before Trent Reznor.

Listening to pouring rain outside. One of my favorite sounds!

a spanner has been thrown into the works

Not good for the music industry having high numbers like this from events
Yikes! 4700 cases out of 76000 attendees with a negative test OR vaccinated OR with documented recovery from infection. Outdoors!!
I wonder what the burden of sickness was among the 4700, and whether it was contained at that or ballooned further? I guess they were found because they looked for them. But if 4500 were asymptomatic they'd have bumbled along happily none the wiser.
I still think authorities will let the tour go ahead unless the situation in hospitals becomes untenable. However, I worry about the possibility of it being torpedoed halfway through if each show - and they're all indoors right? - leads to hundreds of cases.
Ugh. Fuckin covid.

[boring dream reference]
I dreamt they released a setlist and I was miffed I accidentally saw one. All I can remember was it appeared to be in 2 sections and opened with Behind the Lines/Duchess
[/boring dream reference]
That doesn't seem outside the bounds of reality at all. Give it a month or so, we might be asking if you've had any dreams about the lottery...
Excellent 'wonky fairground music' comment!

Anyone finding the tour has made its way into their dreams yet?
Now that's a pleasant thought! Not yet but hopefully soon, whet the appetite a little...

I think you were being a little* kind there!
(* at least 10% too kind)
😂 I was giving him or her the first 4 words! But I like the sentiment of your post.
To echo The_Genesis_Archive it is very exciting to think that the boys are going through their paces somewhere, honing their skills and getting match fit. I can already anticipate the butterflies I'll have when the gig rolls around

hopefully this time next month I'll be enjoying a beer inside the Utilla Arena Birmingham waiting on the band to come on
Still a few obstacles to overcome in certain areas. Getting to Birmingham safely, avoiding getting covid is one and here's hoping EU green certs will be accepted and that non essential international travel is still permitted by the Irish government by this time next month.
Very hard to see them going backwards on international travel at this stage. Ireland has been at 2k cases a day for a while now and hospitalizations/ICU admissions seem pretty flat. Of course with Michael and Leo you never know...
Only thing I can see upsetting the apple cart at this stage is a new variant and there wouldn't be time for that. Or the band deciding themselves they don't like the idea of playing to thousands of rabid fans generating a virus laden atmosphere by baying for Whodunnit!

Well... I got about a dozen warnings yesterday pertaining to a tornado risk. And today I hear a hurricane is heading our way Sunday.
Should I pencil in a plague of locusts for Tuesday?

I leaned forward and shouted right into her face "YOU'RE BLOCKING THE BLOODY DOOR YOU STUPID PHONE ZOMBIE".
the perfect response, justified by the toxic combination of entitlement and her ignorant response to you.
-
New pet peeve.
Walking down stairs behind someone who is walking downstairs very (very) slowly because their eyes are glued to their phone. Must. Not. Push. PUT YOUR FUCKING PHONE DOWN YOU FUCKING FUCK!!!
....and breathe....

That's all. Did you expect anything else?! They do not care.
😆. Damn those cold-hearted bastards!
