U2 at The Sphere. Las Vegas 9/30.
I can only imagine what Genesis could’ve done in this building. The sound and screens lived up to the hype.

For anyone (un?)fortunate enough to live in a part of the world where this has never been screened, or whose access to TV channels has prevented them from seeing it, I've recorded it and uploaded it for your pleasure!

Alternatively, you may wish to copy it to a CD or DVD, or a USB memory stick, take it outside and set fire to it. I accept no responsibility for any damage to other property that you may suffer owing to over-zealousness in this action.

Just saw Steve in Boston last light. Band sounded excellent. Very enthusiastic crowd as usual. Wish his solo set to open was a bit longer, but totally understandable when Seconds Out is being played in its entirety.
Both The Mama Tour and TSL were shown on MTV back in the mid 80’s and later. I recorded them both on VHS.
I looked and did not see a Boston specific shirt. A bit surprising since they sold an Elmont specific one.
However, I did only go by one table and did not check multiple merch booths.
Another stellar performance tonight in Boston.(After a not so stellar show in Elmont.
Phil gave the strongest version of Mama that I have seen oof the four shows I have seen on the tour.
Enthusiastic crowd, but as expected, much louder applause for the hits.
Tickets were going for a little as $10 on the secondary market for tonight’s show.
Picked up a pair for tomorrow in the middle loge section for $30. Hard to pass up the last US(?)show at that price. Especially when it’s only a 60 minute drive from my home.
Display MoreHi there, new to this forum but I’ve been a fan of the band since the ATTWT/Seconds Out days. I was lucky enough to see six shows—both Chicago, both Philly and both NY.
I’d been looking forward to hearing Duchess but as you know they played Misunderstanding instead in Chicago which was a bit disappointing. When I finally heard it in Philly I have to admit I teared up. So wonderful, with fantastic visuals to boot.
Overall I was impressed with how well Phil’s voice held up. By the second night in NY he seemed to struggle a bit, I think perhaps from the stress of four shows in five nights? In any case, kudos to him for making this final round, I can’t imagine how difficult it is for him to tour with his very limited mobility.
I filmed Philly night 1 in its entirety, wanted to share with you all:
thanks for sharing. Great quality!
O was speaking to someone in ticketing recently, and they mentioned that empty seats recently fan be chalked up to vaccine/ illness issues. They are getting calls about refunds because of vaccine requirements plus people looking for refunds when people are not feeling welland awaiting covid tests.
a you went brand new arena, that I guess was supposed to be awesome with acoustics. How did it sound.
The sound quality was great. A lot of times in Arenas I hear sounds bouncing off the walls and coming back again. There was none of that. I actually took a walk to different spots around the place just to check out the acoustics . It was pretty even throughout and exceptional.
A few thoughts on the Elmont show.
The venue.
The USB Arena was clean, modern, with seating that had more legroom than anywhere I have been before. The parking logistics were a nightmare. Awful signage around the venue.
Many empty seats. Some entire sections with good sight lines had nobody in them. Too many shows in the NYC area? It was a Friday night, not a Tuesday.
The show.
There seemed to be something lacking tonight. I don’t know if it was a lack of crowd energy that influenced my overall experience, but I felt like the band struggled to get into a groove. Phil seemed to be a step behind on many songs, especially Domino.
On the positive side, they pulled it together for a stellar Afterglow, and Second Home By The Sea was the best I have heard of the three shows I’ve attended.(Charlotte, Philly)
it was still a fun night seeing my favorite band. If it was my first time seeing Genesis since 2007, I’m sure my perception would have been different and not as critical.
Seeing Boston later this week to wrap up my live experience with the band.
Not tonight. But tomorrow for the show.
Thanks for the heads up about the sale of 25% off. Not sure why when I go on the store site, there is no mention of it. Was there a code you used?
Thanks for your help
the discount should show up in your cart before checking out.
95% is high. If it wasn't for the money. Tony would cancel the tour now. I do not know of any band that goes out and tours and is not 100%.
You must not be aware of many bands…
After seeing the Charlotte show, I will say that Phil’s vocal performance was stronger tonight.. Mike seems to be having the time of his life on stage. Lots of smiling, and interaction with Daryl. Always hard to read Tony, but he grinned occasionally.
So much fun. Crowd responded much louder to the older material than at the previous show I attended. I was suspect at first, but Nic’s drumming is starting to grow on me.
Headed to Philly right now. Looking forward to a great show.
I know you’re addressing butchered lyrics, but I must admit that at the DC show it seemed to me that Domino was the song where the changes in Phil’s voice caused some problems. The first part was dropped so low that I never got past the sense while listening that he was off-key. The second part was I thought much better.
Agreed. Much more control during the second half
Just got out of the show. Glad that Duchess is still being played. Was the highlight for me.
Phil sounded better than I had expected. A few lyrics butchered, Domino in particular, but otherwise very solid. The entire band seemed to be having fun all night. Mike especially appeared to be having a ball. Got a little choked up during Fading Lights. Would have made a great closer. Although Carpet Crawlers makes sense and sounded great.
If you are on the fence about seeing them one last time, don’t be. Do it while(if)you can.
A great victory lap for an incredible band.

Can't help but laugh at what has to be one of the most poorly written articles on the tour I've read. Phil Collins wasn't able to join this tour due to health problems?? Who was singing then? The audience doesn't realize Phil is sitting down? 😂
You should have put up a spoiler alert. I'm going to Charlotte tomorrow and apparently wouldn't have noticed that he was sitting all night until I saw your post.
Thanks for ruining it...
Going to Charlotte as well. Can't wait.
