'It spawned their 3rd No.1 which was also their last hit.'
Ah yes..got it then..definitely not an album cover would associate with genesis! And one of the few bands to have 3 number 1s sung by different vocalists (i think! )

maybe alan Parsons project?
maybe the extended version is the leftover that featured on A Curious feeling?...
nope not heard of that story!
indeed...the same artist on the album covers. Well done...over to you..
ok thanks.. i am sure not much will get passed you guys!...
What links Black Sabbath, Al Stewart and Genesis in 1976?
new members of line up?BB...CT and DS etc?
watcher?
i always think about how when FV came out it was a side project and initially it was only really listened to by Genesis fans ...with a mixed reaction.
Then ITAT took off and the rest is history...just imagine if it hadn't been a hit...may have all been very different
Further to previous comment...i have heard Phil says he played them ITAT and was rejected. Tony has disagreed with this and says it was never played...but did bring PDA and Misunderstanding
One of rock and rolls great fall outs! Although can't see TB throwing ant TV's out the window! 😂
Have to say that over the years Duke has possibly become my favourite album and certainly i am guessing the most played. For me it seems to have survived the test of time and every track has something going for it. Also think that Phils vocals were at their best around this time
great quality...i did post this on another site but the same guys have revamped the Lyceum show shown on the old grey whistle test...great sound and quality
doesn't do it for me i am afraid. At times almost seems as if he is aware that he cant match PG or PC...and doesn't really want to have a go...but that could just be my vivid imagination!
used to live near Hammersmith...many a time would wander down to the Odeon and pick up a ticket for face value or less from a tout. Even had a few for nothing once the show started..those were the days! ...
currently reading book by Mike Omer...apologies if this one come up before, but came across this section..
“I like Genesis,” Zoe said, feeling satisfaction that Tatum’s attempt at patronizing her musical taste was foiled. “I had the cassette of Invisible Touch when I was younger.”
“I’m sure you did. But I’m talking about Genesis before Peter Gabriel left and everything went to hell. This is Selling England by the Pound, and it’s a masterpiece.”
While i wouldn't argue with the album being a masterpiece..i may have to take issue with author about everything going to hell! 😂
no doubt if the tour goes well...European and US dates are an option but do agree that looking forward to an indoor venue rather than stadium
Always strange when the light show starts in daylight. Remember at Twickenham 2007 and wasn't dark until about half way through the show!
so a family friend of ours has run the local Wimpy for over 40 years. Sold the building last year for over £1m....definitely SEBTP! 😂
while i am guessing that the tour may be postponed, the recent months of lockdown have slightly changed my view on the tour. Originally i was having similar thoughts to what has already been mentioned..is Phil up to it..no Chester..maybe not my ideal setlist etc
Now i am just looking forward to having a great night out and appreciating a band that has been part of my life for 40 years and may be the last tour...it may not be perfect but i can live with that and just make the most of the moment
whenever the sun is out..it is always Duke for me. For some reason reminds me of the West coast and i guess a more commercially viable album. Listened to the 1980 Lyceum show yesterday..still one of my favourite tours/setlists...one of the Youtube offerings is stating 1.4m views....astonishing for a bootleg and a often derided band!
