Me, too! I "discovered" Genesis around 1980-1, so Duke/Abacab/3SL/Genesis were my initial exposure to the band and important in my overall musical development. Really wish I could've caught one of those tours!
3SL/Encore: my all-time favorite tour!

I agree with you, but I'm afraid that Phil's voice won't stand - that's why I'm not pushing for it. But the songs mentioned above are not particularly vocal demanding. Really, if we have friends among the Genesis management, please try to convince them to change. These will probably be the last concerts of the band - that's why I would like to hear new songs that have not been released in 30-40 years.
Perhaps with the help of backing vocalists Phil could pull off the last several minutes of SR. I’m thinking as a surprise replacement for CC at the end. Imagine “Selling England by the Pound . . . And it’s hey babe (etc)”

I just stumbled on an interesting article in Mix Magazine featuring an interview with the front-of-house sound engineer and assistant engineer. The article touches on the challenges Covid has posed to the tour and some interesting insights on mixing prog songs live.

Thank you very much for your answer. After all - if someone on the forum is an employee of Genesis management or knows Tony Smith and the band members well - please ask them at least, try to convince them to make a few changes in the set list. I really liked the slightly altered version of, for example, Misunderstanding, although I never liked it. :))))) This is a really goodbye to Genesis fans - that's why we want to hear songs that have not been heard for decades - although known like Abacab or Jesus He Knows Me. I would even like One Of The Vine or Eleventh Earl Of Mar. :)))))))))) I say - 3, 4 shifts.
And . . . at least part of Supper’s Ready!

Super! Definitely say "hello" after the shows if you're able to attend!
We got our tix for the the Milton show. My girlfriend and I will be front row center. See you there!

The Rock Orchestra performs Duke/Abacab, May 27th, Milton, Delaware. My lady friend and I can’t wait!

For possible interest of forum members in the US Mid-Atlantic region: The Rock Orchestra (TRO) is staging two live performances of the Duke and Abacab albums this coming May:
- Saturday, May 7th at The Baby Grand in Wilmington, Delaware
- Friday, May 27th at The Milton Theater in Milton, Delaware
This lineup is the same group of musicians who performed The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway in 2019, which you can watch in its entirety on YouTube: https://youtu.be/E5nZheA_Rfo
I'm reprising my role as Tony Banks for these shows, and am super psyched to get to play all the songs from two of my favorite Genesis albums!
I should mention that TRO is not a full-time Genesis tribute; we're more like a collective of musicians in the Delaware area who tackle 3 new tribute projects each year. The founding members plan each season and recruit different lineups of local musicians for each project. The musicians for this show are all huge Genesis fans & are looking forward to performing this amazing music!
This is great! I live in rural Worcester County, MD, not that far from Milton. We will definitely be in attendance at the 5/27 show!

As others have suggested, this may be due more to financial considerations. In fact, I suspect that’s the case. But they aren’t going to include that in their announcement. It’s worth remembering that Genesis blamed the cancelation of the US leg of the CAS tour on “technical difficulties” (or some such gobbledegook) rather than admitting ticket sales had tanked in the US. I suspect in the case of TMB the problem is the cumulative impact of less touring, smaller crowds at their shows during the pandemic, insurance costs, and the plain headache of long-term planning during the pandemic.

Schrottrocker's got it. Congratulations!
Does Phil play drums during the instrumental outro on Living Forever?

The Security Tour, 1983, at Merriweather Post Pavillion in Maryland. Peter in his Shock the Monkey style make-up. Awesome.

Wow. I haven’t heard Heathaze in a while. It’s always been a favorite of mine and the mellotron makes it even more moving. Truth be told tears welled up in my eyes while listening to this.

I liked NRAA from the very start. It sounds exactly what it is, a really good quality pop song done by a very talented, skilful creative rock band. It's a perfect concise demonstration of how they applied all the same things and musical integrity that created Firth, Watcher etc - they just applied them differently and in a way many don't like. But it absolutely is 100% Genesis.
I especially like the middle section and the bass work.
I liked No Reply when it was first released and to me it has aged just fine. It’s a well crafted pop song with interesting arrangements and cord changes, certainly much more so than a song like Invisible Touch.

It suddenly struck me while watching a clip on YouTube of Cinema Show on this tour that Daryl is “mimicking” Tony’s keyboard solo during the first part of the instrumental section. He’s playing along with Tony until the break in the middle of the “solo.” As far as I can recall that is not how the song was played in 2007 (and certainly not on earlier tours). Am I imagining things or is this correct?

I'd say that is the single most unusual thing they ever did. I love listening to the various versions of it and always wish they had let themselves off the leash like that more often. I don't mean every night being Jazz Odyssey, "hope you like our new direction" but just the odd occasion in subsequent tours.
“Jazz Odyssey”—classic 😂 Always chancy, especially when played to a festival audience.
