Who forced you to do it?
I have no f**** idea
Us fans, eh?
It has arrived, will check this out tomorrow.
Oh, that album. Bought this when I was quite young - and didn't understand it, so ignored it for years. Re-discovered it a while ago and now love it!
This track is good - 12/15 I'd say.
So, finally the i/o boxset will arrive. Who has pre-ordered it? I did .... (although I did not want to)
15!
Is it as good as "Firth of fifth"? No!
Is it still worth 15 points? Yes
Is that a contradiction? Erm ... no
That's 14/15 from me!
Great track and certainly one of his best from the whole catalogue.
I'll second that!
I'm not much of a Mike + the Mechanics fan, especially anything after Beggar on a Beach of Gold.
I liked this more than I thought I would. I give it a 9.
some of the later stuff has grown over time (at least for me). I like the "Rewired" album, and I also like parts of "The Road" (like this track, Background Noise) and also half of "Let Me Fly".
On WCD I liked some sounds, e.g., the "elephant" and the backing chords in No Son of Mine, all of Fading Lights. And then he picked very underwhelming ones, like the whole instrumental for Living Forever. His picks for sounds on the 2007 tour were also questionnable.
I agree to that 100%. The album had a warm sound and most of the keyboard stuff was good or okay. Subsequent tours seem to be below average. I am neither a musician nor an expert, it's just an observation.
Funny - I checked out some of their videos on YouTube a few months ago and thought "that was a great group of musicians". Hope I'll be able to see them live!
Haven't heard this in a while. Quite a nice track, I think 9 points are okay for this one.
Can somebody help me with this. I've looked at it several times, and I can't figure out what the poster is trying to say.
perhaps he's trying to say OTS should have been on the album?
A good track, and yes, should have been on WCD. 11/15....
I don't think I have the equipment to see the difference. Maybe someone can share some thoughts when the 4K Blu-ray is available?
After three sold out shows - 4th show for Zoetermeer announced!
I recommend to check out this venue when you can. A really great place for shows and it's rather small, so quite intimate.
I stopped collecting vinyl. And I don't regret this - all those re-issues, colored vinyl editions ... and the pricing. Bloody expensive hobby.
I really like the Cut album. It had those rockier, straighter elements Ray couldn't do with Genesis and the title track is a great example (the video is nice, but hey, looks awkward to see them play in front of a stadium aufience).
14. Probably his best solo track ever. There's just something missing for 15 points - and I cannot even say what it is. Just a feeling ...
I know what you mean, probably simply Mike and Phil are missing. That could have made the track a 15 points classic. As it is, I'd say 13. And yes, one of his finest solo tracks!
Alas, the regular CD is currently no longer available from the seller I linked to. I'm glad I got it while I could. Hopefully they'll have it again; it was a good price and the shipping was really quick.
What is the issue with the North American market? I thought InsideOut have a separate branch there?
In Europe, it's widely available
13/15 - one of their better tracks from their last three albums.
