From the USA article it seems that Europe was only intended to be UK, Ireland and not mainland, but Covid changed that.
Given the situation in Europe developing, fingers crossed for March .... its a long way to go yet
-
Misunderstanding always did well in America. Its a shame they couldn't just include it rather take away another.
-
I was watching the Last Domino Documentary again the other day and Daryl said, it would be fitting if they ended the tour in London.
I know it never meant to happen that way, but the tour (and Genesis) will now fittingly end in London.
It's also clear, Europe tour was never meant to happen & very sad news for Ireland & Belfast / Glasgow.

Has there been no interviews anywhere for the American Tour?
Seems very quiet from the band

Tonight Tonight Tonight, Genesis starts the first leg of their North American tour!
-
Wow! Genesis are now just 5 days away from kicking off the next step in their legendary existence.
Looking forward to seeing how Phil is doing in these ones.
I hope covid stays away
-
It would be good if Management worked on releasing new full show's because we don't have these and even more fitting now to have
-
Nick has been active pretty much since the show's were cancelled and he's doing okay.
I'm sure Phil is being locked in a clean room under guard somewhere until America starts
-
I just find it frustrating that even with Phil's videos and show's they get cut or edited in a way that is annoying.
I think they all used same video guy, probably one reason why they are like this.

So, the official release was hacked to death and missing so much, so how do we get them to re-release the full concert with the additional 45 minutes?
Would be a lot of interest in releasing this and I'm sure that it was all recorded and then edited down, so it must exist.
Phil was probably at his peak voice wise in this tour and it deserves a full release.

2 extra show's added on European Tour, as expected all to fit in before London concerts.
-
I'm a little surprised they're not including Italy, a sort of early spiritual heartland for them and of course the site of the huge free concert on the 07 tour.
I think they had limited time availability so they can close out in London.
Also, the Rome concert, was a fitting way to say goodbye to Italy.

Australia has pretty much re-opened. Just saying....
Sadly, Phil nixed the planned tour there in 2008.
Phil often talked about doing concerts with Genesis they never played before, but then they never happened, especially as his Solo tours would go on for ever and reach some far out places.
It's a shame really, especially as if not for his physical health issues in 2008+ I think there may have been an opportunity for more Genesis (album even) but sadly Phil replaced his drumsticks with bottles of wine & never recovered.

Who Dunnit belongs on every Album
-
Phil's mid life crises album.

The best tour, is always the the current tour.
It means Genesis is still going.
-
9 show's in Europe Plus 3 (so far) in UK means a good little run for them in early 2022
Never say never, but I just feel Phil will call it a day after that. 7 years of touring considering his health is probably 15 to him right now.

I think that now there is some kind of a better picture with covid and Europe, plus they have to reschedule the show's it makes sense that the need to have some warmup show's prior to London.
I'm convinced that Genesis always wanted to go out closing in London and that they wouldn't have done the Europe show's now, aside from this plan B or C due to the cancellations, hence scheduling them prior to London and not after.
Means no room to add additional dates.
Of course America has always been their biggest market, so it makes sense they do more show's there as they have done throughout their history.
It's all a very fitting end to an incredible journey.

Tony Smith previously had Genesis provisionally booked in 2008 and Phil refused.
I would guess a European tour was thought about in various plans, but they would have announced it sooner, had it been part of plan A
UK and America were the A plan and due to covid, i'm guessing they implemented whichever backup scenario this announcement was.
Also, there a lot of Red tape & Visa issues now with touring Europe, so that was a likely factor also in not announcing any European dates originally.
