Math Rock/Post Rock
I asked this question, what's the difference between Math Rock and Post Rock
Math rock is basically all about angular melodies, odd time signatures and generally music with really high level of technicality. As opposed to post rock, which is often based on a single "melody" that builds up, and that some people can consider to be repetitive. You'll find out that more often than not, bands mix genres, so it's kind of hard to find diferences.
Post Rock tends to be more ambient played loud, period of loud and soft with builds to climaxes, it tends to wash over you like a crushing wave.
So like all Progressive music with various time signatures and complex structures, Math Rock has the more complex of them all
