Very good track! I like the 1990 live version most, apparently.
Last thing they said (a while ago) is that something will come around May, which is soon. So let's see if that will become reality
... really hope this is going to happen! When did that session take place? Must have been more than a year ago?
Riding The Scree and Firth Of Fifth (not only the intro) are also on my list. I also like what he does on Second Home By The Sea.
Another track I really like is "Wake Up Your Mind" from the Stiltskin/She album.

An interesting and good rock track. I also like the SHE album and I hope Ray will revisit that style some day.
I heard the surplus album's worth of material was a bunch of uncharacteristically dirty spiky low-fi borderline scary stuff, recorded during late-night/small hours jams that became gradually more unhinged, in a sort of return to the Lamb sessions 'evil' jam. Somewhere there's a whole album that even long-time fans would have trouble recognising as Genesis, speculatively titled The Black Dance (some say it was The Devil's Dance, which I find unlikely). But it will never see any form of release, sadly.
April fool's day today, eh?
Quite a good track and somehow a shame Arno Carstens didn't become a regular member of M&TM. But he's in South Africa, so logistics would have been rather difficult.
11 from me.
Doesn't really make much sense to me. A special vinyl for CC99 would have been nice, probably for the Record Store Day, but who needs this Hits compilation on vinyl?
"Invisible Touch Clear Vinyl" is also quite a "name" for this release
One of their best B-Sides and my favorite among those, actually. Worth 13 points.
It is in general pretty hard these days to listen to new stuff with fresh ears, since you get all sorts of opinions in forums, social media and on websites etc. I try to keep away from that as much as I can, but I can't really say it works all the time ... in this case not.
13, that's a cracker, love it!
What about crowdfunding?
I am pretty sure rights management wouldn’t allow something like that. And I also think it may come out officially one way or the other one day.
If Genesis and Yes can be inducted, then I don't know why Phil wouldn't be inducted.
Peter was also inducted as a solo artist, I see no reason why Phil shouldn’t be
I agree with you that i wish the full Unplugged show would be released at least on bootleg. I know wasnt the beet time in Phil's life and he wished he didn't have to commit doing it. Still the setlist looks awesome!

There actually was the making of Phil's MTV Unplugged on Youtube with the special but it looks like it's been removed. The making was interesting with some good interviews by Phil. Anyway the setlist is interesting that he actually tried Don't Call Me Ashley several times as well as Helpless Heart and even Burn Down the Mission and The Way You Look Tonight. Here's hoping it one day gets released!
I really hope this will be released one day. Perhaps and edited show and all the extra tracks as part of a bonus feature.
Oh, that one
It's stronger in the context of the album, but also a good starter for the second LP/CD. I would say 11 points is okay.
8 from me. An average track on an average album, I think ...
I do remember hearing that "difficult transfer based on the original filming format" was an issue for Genesis' Wembley '87 concert-but they ended up still managing to convert that one to Digital. I might be understanding tech incorrectly here, but IIRC now that there's an existing digital transfer for that concert, doing a 1080p conversion should be doable. I also believe the Star Trek TNG series had this same formatting issue-and they were able to do 1080p versions that are frankly breathtaking! Granted, the Star Trek HD releases involved a painstaking restoration process.
That's it! And I doubt anyone is wiling to pay the bills to do the job. Which is a shame really. Wembly, No Ticket, Way we walk... plenty of stuff worth rereleasing in HD. Even First final farewell tour. Let alone When in Rome, which IS available in HD.
Display MoreA mix in my case:
Selling is my favorite when I look at all the albums and what they stand for.
Wind & Wuthering is the album I probably like the most (personal touch)
Duke is my favorite trio phase record.
I also like Abacab and We Can't Dance
same thoughts here, although I have WCD in my Top 3 instead of SEBTP
13. A strong track on a very interesting album. Some like it, some don't. I sometimes do, sometimes not.
LOL - I always thought his introduction meant that an easy lover is something we don't see very often
Thanks for putting that right!
