Average length of the first 7 tracks are around 5 minutes. If total length is about 1 hour, that leaves room for 5 extra tracks, as planned.

We haven't got the deep dive from so much yet ? Will we get one ?
-
I get -much- more emotion from the dark side mix. This bright side mix is beautifully done, but I feel much more distance with the voice. It doesn't have the same impact.
-
In fact So much is the one that touches me the most deeply. The singing is perfect. An instant classic track.
-
With the shock of So much being such a strong and emotional song (I hadn't imagined it was that good from the snippets I heard on YT ), I think we are on the road for a -very- strong PG album.
One of his best ?
There are still so many good songs to come: Love can heal, Live and let live, And Still, this is home .
I'm so grateful for this whole I/O experience.

OK, I think this is the one that hits me most for the moment…
I love it !.
Beautiful melody, spars arrangement, some silence, great lyrics. The ghost of Leonard Cohen is not far.
-
It seems to be really beautiful !
-
A bit john Lennon from the little bit I could hear. It confirms the direction for this I/O project. Quite classical - and strong - songwriting.
-
I wonder why PG said the tour had been difficult at times ?
-
this is a song I'd like to hear. One of my all time favourite
-
I agree but I am not sure he has finished this version. The guitar solo is also … well … Rutherfordish
Haha I've never been a fan of guitar solos !
The middle part has an interesting melody / harmony. Sounds a bit Genesis ?
And what I love most is all the end, with that super groovy whole band playing together. And that guitar ! It's so full of life ! It's probably a little long, but this freedom, the lack of precise structure suits the song theme quite well.
And it reminds me a bit of Talking Heads!
It sounds unfinished though. You can hear those 2 new parts were glued in. The sound is different.
But it's all natural, relaxed. I enjoy it.

It would be nice to have a proper mix of that more experimental version of I/O on the album
-
Dark side mix sound very different from the little bit I could hear. It sounds more dynamic and there are some v nice new elements.
Parts of the verses remind me now of PG3 ? !
After 6 Dark and Bright mixes, I find I like more often the dark mixes, except for the court (I love the Strings and Brass sounds of Bright mix) and PFT.
I like Tchad Blake's manipulations and ideas, his "extreme" side. Only downside, his mixes sound sometimes a bit "hard". Lots of high mediums. Probably because he uses lots of distortions.
Mark "Spike" Stent, is a bit "safe" in his balances and hides often important elements of PG's music, but his sound is marvellous.
Maybe they should mix together !

Peter talked about this "other project" he is working on, about the brain. I wonder what that is ?
It seems there's some music involved, as some tracks come from that project...
-
I'm quite sure that he'll use the tour experience to rework slightly or remix some of the tracks that he thinks could be improved.
and I hope that after the dark and the bright mixes, we'll get the perfect "final mixes" for the album.

When I first heard it, I was a bit disappointed. I thought it was too familiar (Kiss that frog phrasing) or too simple in the chorus. But after a few listens, I like it !
I don't care anymore about the kiss that frog analogy (it's also much better) and find it enjoyable. The energy, the positive vibe is so nice !
There's something that reminds me the ambiance of Shaking the tree. I don't know what exacltly...
It's not my favorite of the new tracks , but it's a good one !
I think it will fit well on the album.

Well What a concert !
It is really such a beautiful show. Very, emotional, with so many great visual ideas (Darkness, Love can heal ! ), and his voice sounds as strong as 20 years ago. I loved every moment of it !
I discovered all those unreleased tracks. The most touching must be "and still". I never heard Peter singing so delicately on a song. waow ! I really look forward to hear the studio versions of all of them.
I Brough my 2 teenaged daughters with me. They loved the concert also !
I just have the impression that with the tickets costs, some of the biggest fans were more often at the rear of the place than at the first rows.
I hope He'll be back in Belgium next year
-
You think he'll make another European tour in 2024 to promote I/O ?

Peter Gabriel - Sledgehammer Live (Back to Front Tour - London) - YouTube
After nine years from the Back To Front Tour Peter's voice has miracoluosly improved......
I think it sounds really good !

I had not noticed before that the song "What lies ahead" was co written by Isaac Gabriel.

he was still quite young as PG played that song many years ago...
