Genesis BBC Sessions Box Set - This has been confirmed by Nick Davis
What's the hold up?!
No way is that an official release. It doesn't even come close to matching what Nick Davis mentioned was going to be on the set and the artwork is so amateur its laughable!
Does anyone know where to find pictures of all of the board tapes? I seem to remember someone posting them having visited the farm and showed the case that had the open drawers with all of the labelled tapes.
I'll do one better and get you the video. Here ya go!
Anything new to report on this? A release date? It's gotten quiet all of the sudden...
An obviously improved version of the 1991 documentary has surfaced yesterday

Didn't this appear on the We Can't Dance 2007 reissue? What about this was improved?
So I guess Drew Carey was at least partially right (and partially wrong) when he claimed "Cleveland Rocks"?
When it comes to the RARHOF, it's getting to the point where it doesn't rock because they will let anyone in!
I live in the eastern suburbs of Cleveland and came out of there disappointed as well and have never been back. Thank God Cleveland represented Genesis well hosting them for every tour since Foxtrot! For the record, the Rock and Roll HOF is a joke.
I remember reading the announcement in the news paper and was crushed. The thought of there being no Genesis was disappointing because I was really getting into prog rock. Months later I read an online announcement from the bands website that they were going to carry on and their music would be heavier and darker. This got me excited because I was led to believe that this meant they were going back to their prog rock roots, but this really wasn't the case. I bought the CAS CD the day it came out and when the intro to the title track was playing, I was blown away! The rest of the album was just ok to me, but when I started collecting the CD singles with the unreleased material, I thought most of it should have been on the album and that would have made it much better!
For me these are the top tracks (in no particular order):
Watcher Of The Skies - ultimate album opener
Can-Utility And The Coastliners - underrated deep cut
Supper's Ready - the epic of all epics!
The only thing that's being talked about being released is the BBC sessions. This really is a surprise considering some in the band vetoed the release back in the 90's. I'm wondering if this will still happen now that they sold their publishing rights? Who knows...
I was going to say, nobody over here in the U.S. calls rehearsals "trials." It does sound like someone is going to court! I haven't been this confused about something since I've heard Brits refer to vacations as a holiday. I'm thinking, no, Christmas is a holiday!
Blood On The Rooftops
Just A Job To Do
Do The Neurotic
I don't like it. Plain and simple. Looks like something that would show up on a bootleg cover.
The third issue, people in American whined on about excessive stereo compression, despite the boxsets being about the Surround sound from the very inception.
Um, I know for a fact it wasn't just Americans that complained. There were quite a few Brits that didn't like it either as they voiced their displeasure on the older forums at the time they were released. Don't judge by trying to pin this on one group.
Why bother with such a long breakdown? All you need to do is go to setlist.fm pick your concert date and scroll down to "Songs on Albums" to see the graphic and songs from each album:

Invisible Touch was the highest with 5 (not my most liked album unfortunately) followed by Genesis Mama and Selling England with 4 each.
Maybe he would prefer to do it his way? I thought it was a better, more detailed list than the one you linked to and I enjoyed reading it!
I would much prefer looking at "time spent" playing songs from various albums in the current setlist as this is a much better indicator of representation. Three brief snippets from SEBTP aren't even close to 4-5 full songs from '80s albums.
Then why don't you make that list so we can compare?
I really enjoyed the interviews with Hugh Padgham. He really added some insight to the recording process that Genesis undertook. As far as the Jim Yukich interview, he sounded too much like a fan and tended to ramble a lot. Thanks for letting us know about the interviews!
Just received the same information from a different source
Excellent! BTW, I got a message that the 1975-2021 book will be on my doorstep today. Maybe if I time it right, I'll have it read by the time the first book gets re-released. Just looking at the book previews, I think these two books could rival Armando Gallo's books and are just as informative as Chapter and Verse!
I was thinking the same thing. Could you imagine Peter coming to the front of the stage for the encore signing "Can you tell me where my country lies?" then continuing to sing Carpet Crawlers with Phil as a duet? That would be the perfect end to the last show. I know it's unlikely, but we can dream...
I got a reply back from the Dusk website and they said the book will go back in print 1Q 2022.
