Love this documentary, especially as it shows how nervous they were before the first gig!
by the way, the subtitles .... hilarious

"Red rain" is my all time Gabriel favorite
"Don't give up" may be his best ballad (at least in my opinion)
the third track was tough, a bit of a lottery. In the end I went for "We do what we're told", probably also because it's more or less representing the dark side of the record.
I am not the biggest Hackett follower on earth, but I like his output and also that he keeps producing new albums, also with completely different concepts. The last few records were indeed a bit "less exciting", probably because they all sound the same. Maybe he should limit himself regarding the use of intsruments etc, but all in all I am sure I will find something worth listening on the upcomng album as well...
At the end of the day - what are we complaing about? Someone who produces new music and new records on a yearly basis? Imagine Peter did that ...
I love "Wallflower", that was also a highlight on "New Blood"
"I have the touch" is also great, same with "Rhythm ..."
I don't like "Kiss of life" and I also never really got into "Fishing net"
is that Paul Carrack singing? Sounds very good
Thats's Paul Young singing obviously
Come talk to me is my favorite. I also picked Digging... and Love to be loved
Tough one ...
In the air tonight (obviously)
I missed again
Roof is leaking
Droned and Hand in hand are also good enough to be in my top 3 - but hey, it's only 3 ... so
Difficult album for me. Standout tracks are Sky blue, No way out and I grieve. I must say - I never really liked it as a whole.
I noticed that the names of the two background singers (check the tour trailers) are mentioned on this tour dates page.
So I checked with google:
Daniel Pearce doesn't have a website (at least I didn't found one) but he was obviously involved in casting / TV shows.
Patrick Smyth does have a website, is from Belfast and is a session singer. He was also involved in musicals.
Wow, great stuff. I didn't even know anything about this performance at all, so this was a real surprise
There will be no new album. Peter had a lots of new songs in attics, but he shows no interest in making an album. That's a pity...
what makes you think there's won't be a new album anymore?
The shows in Europe are still scheduled first:
Europe: Sept-Oct
NA East: Nov-Dec
This will hold true unless covid numbers rise and cause the band to ppd their tour again.
Was writing about mainland Europe actually.
HOMH : ... no comment. I hate this song...
a lot of fans do ... in 2007, it was a "slowing down" moment and worked perfectly well as such
Well, not going I’m afraid. But you never know what will happen until November. Maybe I change my mind but right now I am not really into traveling a lot...
Great!
But this surprises me - was expecting shows in Europe first.
I wasn't too sure and haven't bought any tickets. But the trailer etc made me think, so maybe I will try to see a show in the UK or Dublin, if it's possible to travel (and not too expensive etc)
Yes, saw this on YouTube a while ago. A wonderful version! But of course it looks like all has been recorded prior to the airing, so it's not really live (which doesn't affect the quality of this version in any form)
Saw them on the four most "recent" tours, incl. Calling all stations.
I have very little memories about the 87 show, actually. The Dance tour was a bit weak, compared to the others.
