They have lots of good stuff on there. The Yes programme is part of the Classic Artists series, and the others, Jethro Tull and the Moody Blues have both been on recently. All are (were) available on DVD, I have the Moodies one.

I can record the Genesis docu tonight, and upload the recording to a filesharing site, if anyone would like it. Can't edit the ads, etc, I have record but not edit facilities.

Absolutely amazing. Emma Raducanu has just made history in Tennis, being the youngest and also qualifier to win an Open.

Let's hope she does not fade away and have many more titles.:)

I don't think she will fade away, she seems totally focused and amazingly able to deal with it all, match play and mindset wise. Fantastic achievement, let's hope she manages a few more firsts, though it's hard to imagine what's left! :/

For me, their best song is "The Day Before You Came", atmospheric, superb lyrics that tell you everything about her future by focusing on her past, pop songs don't really come any better.

Sarah Harding of Girls Aloud died this morning, aged just 39. She'd had breast cancer, which is much more treatable now but a year ago revealed it had spread to other parts of her body.

I'm assuming there probably aren't any Girls Aloud fans here. As far as manufactured pop acts go I really liked them, they had some good catchy songs and put on a good live show. It's very sad news she's died so young.

Sad indeed, she was told back in January she wouldn't see another Christmas, apparently. Whatever one's views on manufactured pop acts, she didn't deserve this. RIP.

It's no contest really. I think I'd vote for anyone over Trump. He is not a politician, and has no interest in his country, or any other. Becoming president was just another tick in a box on his bucket list. As for Biden, I was hopeful, but it seems he was merely the least worst candidate on the voting sheet. He seems to have achieved nothing, except mess up Afghanistan, (by default, admittedly), thus making him America's Tony Blair. Not a compliment.

I can fully understand America's wish to walk away from Afghanistan. It's a mess, and always will be (at least until it's culture catches up with the rest of the world, so likely about 800 years. As an ex-high ranking British Army friend of mine once said, after being there, they still live like it's the 12th century!) but surely, they could see that the taliban had merely melted into the general population, waiting the inevitable departure of the western forces which they were never brave enough to face across a battlefield in uniform. Killing and domineering civilians is so much easier!

Exactly. I'm not overwhelmed by any of the three tracks so far.

But, I know I'll still buy the CD. Probably listen to it once, place it on the shelf, and forget all about it.

As I pretty much have with Night Siren and Edge of Light, Wolflight got a few plays first. For that reason, I won't be buying it, as I haven't since Edge of Light. This last track sound exactly like most of those 3. What has happened to him? Once, you could count on his albums to surprise and innovate, it's like he's lost the ability to "hear" what he is doing.

Very sad. I knew they were getting on in years but hadn't heard he was sick. A true legend, what a career.

It had been in the news a week or two back that he was not going to be taking part in the upcoming gigs, due to ill health, but didn't know it was so serious.

    RIP

Woah woah woah. Toasted sourdough? If memory serves you weren't a big fan back when there was a brief "what kind of bread toasts well" dialogue here.

At any rate, it sounds delicious. I had a nice strong black coffee (beans from the local roastery) and a banana. I also have a fresh plain croissant from this amazing french patisserie in town that I am contemplating smearing with a little blueberry jam we picked up on a farm in Maine.

You are contemplating smearing a French patisserie in town with blueberry jam? Boy, they must really have annoyed you! :)

Currently listening to it for the third time today. Much like the EP, some of it is OK, some is outstanding. Some parts might seem a touch "twee" in places, not helped by her voice, though she trades the usual voice for a much different approach on "Only happy when it rains", but elsewhere she rocks with the best of them.

Fans of Nick Magnus should love this, for he is involved heavily, and it shows. All in all, a fine effort and one of the better albums of this year, possibly eclipsed by Plenty's "Enough" but not by much else I've heard.

Got a signed copy too! :P

From GOOGLE News - In 2015, Rolling Stone ranked the Everly Brothers No. 1 on its list of the 20 Greatest Duos of All Time. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as part of the inaugural class of 1986, and into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2001. Rip Phil and Don :(

They are also, quite rightly, (Hope that use of commas doesn't upset anyone ;)) in the vocal group hall of fame, Inductees – The Vocal Group Hall of Fame and even if you don't like them particularly, you would have to acknowledge their influence on acts like Them Mamas and the Papas, Crosby Stills and Nash, and the Bee Gees, to name but 3. Sad that they fell out over the years, but their legacy is untarnished and unforgotten.

Not sure if people in the US are aware, but Phil had a big hit in the UK with Cliff Richard, a UK singer who has been around the charts since March 1958 until the early 2000's, and still making records. Very "Everly" sound to it!

I'd never heard of Sean Lock. Thanks for sharing the video. Had me in stitches with tears of laughter. RIP Sean :saint:

There is loads of his stuff on youtube, I have 3 of his DVD's, "Live", "Lockipedia" and "Purple Van Man", and you can find lots from them on YT. Here's a good one, from UK TV show "Live at the Apollo" (Hammersmith, the same place Steve Hackett has played!) which includes one of my 2 other favourites, Lee Mack.
