Taking each day as it comes. Looking forward to seeing Genesis and hopefully will be April. I might go in a rubber suit and gas mask. Nothing to do with the virus it's just something I like to do!😁

used to live near Hammersmith...many a time would wander down to the Odeon and pick up a ticket for face value or less from a tout. Even had a few for nothing once the show started..those were the days! ...

Yea. The trick is be prepared to miss the start and feign disinterest and you get them dead dead cheap. Did it a few years back seeing Bruce Springsteen just down the road from where I live. Got a ticket for a tenner. His shows are so long it's fine! Security were on to me though saying wouldn't let me in etc and went after the touts. I had to deny I had a ticket and used another entrance out of their sight. As I said these guys get targeted but viagogo are free to spoil it for us all. Bizarre.

I saw that . The twins seem absolutely obsessed with looking cool. But what does a white 58 year old Brit know?? Ennjoyed the vid anyway. Obviously I was looking forward to the the reaction to the drum break. Had no idea who they are , they must have big following.

    I agree. Viagogo are scum.

Not that Mr.Farmer was necessarily suggesting we buy from them, more making a comparison.

Absolutely not suggesting that. I was just curious. Seats for the added shows still available. Yes they're scum . These people buy up all the tickets making it so hard for for a real fan to get them then sell them on at ridiculous prices. I'd rather miss the show than buy from them even if I had the money. Don't see why it's so hard to make them illegal. In the old days the only real place to get a non officials ticket was a tout outside. Never minded them too much. They tended to buy from fans with spares. Quite like the atmosphere they create. They're still about but not nearly as much. I used to get tickets from them a lot. . Several times I made a last minute decisions to go to big shows in the 80s and 90s , never a problem to get a ticket outside at face value or less. It's these big companies which cause such a problem selling so openly but it's the touts outside gigs that they will often try to stop. Bizarre.

When i talk issue of society, i talk about news of murder, violence in every ways, drug, crimes, the porverty in the childrens in the worlds, the violence in the streets, the streets gang and also the prejudice, education and racism. This concept album, at the time of released in 1989, was very ahead of his time and influenced manys pop or RnB artists to talk about that, like Mariah Carey or Lady Gaga.

I had no idea what JJ has done certainly didn't know she did a concept album about that stuff . I know about Stevie Wonder stuff on racism from the 70s

Janet Jackson recording a album concept with Rhytmn Nation 1814. This album talk hugely about the issues and problemes of society, like violence in the gang of the streets (Black Cat), the problem in general of society in the world (Rhytmn Nation), the drugs, crimes in the streets and homeless (State of the World), the poverty and violence for the childrens (Living in the World), Racism and prejudice (The Knowledge),. Few songs talk about love (Love Will Never Do (Without You), Lonely, Come Back to Me, Someday is Tonight), but most of the songs of the album talk about issues and society problems. Except rappers, she the first pop/RnB artist then she talk the huges problems of society in many ways, before the many artists today. and this is in 1989

Dont know about Janet Jackson or R&B really but I'm a great fan of Stevie Wonder. He made so many people aware of the problems so many people face,. including my twelve year old self listening to Living For The City.and many others.

    Firstly happy anniversary.

Secondly I was only looking at this a few hours ago and telling Mrs Farmer I have buy one of these.

Thirdly . I use WHAT RECORDS a fair bit. Rivals Amazon in price but specialise in the latest special releases . Easy to use. Good customer service . I bought all the Genesis box sets from them.

DISCOGS is good for the the second market but you can't beat the second hand shops shops and stalls and record fairs. That's the real real fun.

Fourthly I hope Mrs genesis 1964 knows how lucky she is. If I was in your position I would have sold as my wife to make room for the record collection. You have to get priorities right

And finally it looks like you you're a lucky man after all. Can't think of a better present to get after all these years especially after keeping Mrs Genesis 1964 instead of the records.

I noticed that we final open air gig of the WCD tour took place yesterday, 28 years ago at Knebworth....

time flies so quickly, but we do have a decent video of that. The show was broadcasted by PREMIERE; which was a brand new pay TV station in Germany at the time - and it was broadcasted for free

Thanks for the link. Despite the day being somewhat of personal nightmare the show was great and managed to lift our spirits. Didn't know this was out there and I shall watch the whole thing as soon as I have a few hours spare .
