On most of these polls, I have a hard time limiting myself to just 3 favorites. On this one, it's quite the opposite....I had a very hard time finding 3 to pick. In the end, I went with No Son of Mine, Jesus He Knows Me and Dreaming While You Sleep. Not trying to be difficult, but I just can't get into this album at all.

Seconds Out was an easy choice. I ended up picking Genesis Live over Three Sides Love.
I love them all except for the Way We Walk, the shorts. I can't imagine ever listening to that one again.
Haven't heard the Rainbow Show often enough to comment.

That's great. Did you see a show each on every tour or did you see more sows? Which ones? And which was was your all time favorite Genesis gig?
Just one show on each tour. Favorite was Three Sides Live Tour. It was outdoors, just outside of Chicago, the band were at the top of their abilities, and they played a ton of Gabriel-era stuff, including all of Supper's Ready. Never thought I would see that live. It was great....Phil told the usual Cinema Show lead-in story....instead of the usual "I'm going to be late for the Cinema Show", he said "I'm going to be late, and Supper's Ready". Goosebumps.

Duke
Abacab
Three Sides Live
Mama
Invisible Touch
We Can't Dance
2007 reunion
I had tickets for the Calling All Stations tour, before they cancelled the US leg
-
The Lamb
Selling England
Trick of the Tail
Seconds Out would be in there somewhere if we're counting live albums

Can someone move this to the music forum, where it belongs?
As far as NC, I absolutely love The Musical Box, possibly my favorite Genesis song of all time. The rest is pretty hit and miss, for me. There are parts of Hogweed and Salmacis that are brilliant, but both songs have weak spots, for me.

Am I the only one who saw the "20 year experiment" comment simply as an in-joke?
I feel bad for anybody who doesn't realize it was a joke.

Every tour from Duke through the 2007 reunion tour.....except the Calling All Stations tour. I had tickets for that one, but they cancelled the American leg of the tour.
Really wish I had seen them sometime between 1973-1977 -
I think I just got #1......each album presented at least one new member.
-
I'll take a stab at #3.....fastest and slowest tempo?

Hm, Tony Hill-Smith and Barry Johnston recorded with them. Johnston was with the band Design, it seems, but which band Hill-Smith may have been with eludes me at the moment ...
Can anybody give more information on these recordings?
Edit: Google is my friend. Backing vocals on "Going Out to Get You"
But, not sure that Design would be a "well-known band". Certainly not here in the U.S.

Which two musicians of well-known bands did recordings with Genesis independently in 1970 when the band was without a label?
I'm completely stumped by this one. Either that, or I'm completely misunderstanding the question.

The special has the Classic Rock logo on the front, but features stuff from both mags. I gather the "40 best" list is from Prog readers. It puts Robbery at 33, ahead of Duchess and Fading Lights among others. Duchess is about 100 zillion times better than Robbery, at a conservative estimate. So no, they don't "know their stuff". Or at least, they do know some stuff but it's stuff that's stupid and wrong.
Robbery, Assault and Battery is probably my least favorite song on ATOTT. But, I certainly like it much more than I like either Duchess or Fading Lights. To me, those two songs are the most overrated in Genesis' entire catalog. I know a lot of people love those songs, but neither one does anything for me.
