For songs like So album, I could wait another year.
quite honestly - I don't need a "So 2" and I hope his new album will be a surprise. Having said that, I also hope for strong and powerful songs.

A recent BBC article about the WOMAD festival (40th anniversary) states the new album will come out in 2023 and the number of tracks is now 13 (was 17).
So, Peter will also be on a forthcoming L. Cohen tribute-album with the track "Here it is".
Never heard of such plans. Is there any info about the record and how it was put together, i.e. when Peter's contribution was recorded?
thx
In short, I think the problem here is the £400.
agreed
I doubt this won't be made available elsewhere at a later date. So I will just wait.
Besides, it's not THAT spectacular.
Not sure about this project. Couple of interesting versions, but all in all not really good.
Not sure about masterpiece but I like it a lot and appreciate the way it grew steadily in my estimation, in fact still is. There's a richness to it, with lots of layers and textures and stuff it gives up gradually. I like when an album does that in these days of instant gratification. In that sense it sounds like an album that took years to make.
It's too much to hope the new one will be twice as good but whatever the case, it'll be interesting.
That sums it up nicely!
I also think a new album is coming this year
I have some problems with his first album. There's no major theme, direction or sth like that. In that respect, Collins' first album was far better. Gabriel evolved and with IV he has created a real classic.
Humdrum is my favorite from his first album, Here Comes The Flood is also great in this arrangement. But the majority of tracks don't really interest me any more.
Am more into Gabriel, but always followed Genesis as well. Saw all tours since WCD, CAS inclouded. TLD ahead, so I picked that as well.
Don't see that coming ... but Peter did join them for the final bows in 2000 (manager's award show), so who knows?
A great performance obviously

That's really great! I saw other videos of Dancing ... and Carpet Crawlers, which were eally good!
Thanks for this summary! Enjoyable to read. I really hope a new album is afoot!
There were a couple of additinal photos on Peter's instagram profile, which made me even more excited - but then I realized those were older shots
Living forever is one of my favs as well, then DWYS and obviously Fading lights - how could you not value this track as an all time Genesis favorite?
This album plus US from PG a year later was a great time for me personally. Music always links to great memories...
I went for On the Air, White Shadow and Home Sweet Home, but could have gone on clicking, clicking, clicking: the whole thing is outstanding, dark and powerful and probably the PG album I listened to the most in my distant youth. Love this album.
Right next to Lerxst's Victor in my little head
That was exactly my choice
Been on holiday / away for a while and completely missed this. Fastinating! Sounds rather "serious" to me
Have a couple of albums. I liked "Know your enemy" a lot back then. It was pure energy and was just fitting at the time.
Solsbury Hill is at #472
Besides, these lists are pretty useless, aren't they?
Thanks for sharing - I wasn't aware a recording exists!
We could wish the same for Genesis right guys! A new album would be awesome! Probably never going to happen though. I wouldn’t if the guys ever publicly ruled it out?
Well, thre IS a big difference between Genesis and Peter. Genesis basically stopped writing and jamming in 1997. Peter has always written and recorded stuff frequently and I'm sure far more than we are aware of. So in his case, there is no "is there going to be a new album?" - there is only "when will new stuff come out?".
Just sad that the answer to that question usually is "not in the foreseeable future"....
I know the recording but it always sounds so bizarre to me. For good reasons they have always separated their band and solo careers. I was always pleased that Peter never did a lot of Genesis tunes during his shows.
Having said that, I was actually interested in a 5-piece reunion in 2006/7. Kind of Led Zeppelin style. That would have been awesome. 1982 came too early, imo
