We can assume there will some kind of additional surround version.
I really hope you're right but can we really assume that?

the Lamb was always licensed. They decided to renew it for this ongoing tour but then not more Lamb shows. They will then continue with selling
I get that it's a commercial decision to a large extent, but it's not like TMB are in imminent danger of trashing the Genesis legacy through inferior performances or anything like that.
But then again, I wouldn't want to be sitting opposite Tony Smith in any kind of licencing discussion on what can or can't be played
Thanks for the first impressions. Did you take any photos you can share? Anything else that could be interesting?
*Tim* Bowness. A great talent, and all round good egg. Though I recognise his voice can be divisive.
Ironic misspelling by me after the MC at the gig referred to him as Tim Bowman, and then in response Tim himself joked about being called Tim Boner
I was at Trading Boundaries on Saturday for their second play through - a really good performance followed by highlights from Smallcreep's Day featuring Noel McCalla again.
Fantastic afternoon/evening of music including John Hackett, Tom Bowness, the Beggs Sisters + Nick Beggs.
Doesn't get much better than that.
Maybe I was the only person to buy it?
Just to reiterate, there is some wonderful previously unreleased music on CD2. Appalachian Heights is one of those short, simple, yet beautiful melodies that you can't believe wasn't already written by somebody like Mozart 250 years ago.
Saw the show at Hammersmith yesterday evening - very accomplished musicianship; goes without saying. My 7th TMB experience - these guys are the real deal.
The Lamb isn't my favourite album by any means, but they certainly did it justice.
Another superb Esoteric reissue landed yesterday. I can't honestly say I hear much difference in the remastered CD1 compared with my original version of Wildlife.
But CD2 of unreleased material from Ant's archive - once again unearthed by Jonathan Dann - is worth the entry price alone. Well worth acquiring.

I wonder if that will be done with each subsequent release.
"Curated by Tony Banks"
I have to say curated is not the first word that springs to mind here; much too grand for what Tony has done, unfortunately. I'd go with:
Chopped up by Tony Banks
Mangled by Tony Banks
Randomly thrown together by Tony Banks
Crammed onto the minimum number of discs by Tony Banks
Biased editing by Tony Banks
But I'll be buying it, of course!
also the composition of the artwork is awful. Genesis logos on the CDs don’t seem to fit the cover and content etc
The font on the cover is BBC-style lettering so I'll let them off with that. The rest does look a bit random though, to be honest.
It looks like a semi-reasonable plan, but it feels a bit disingenuous to get fans to sign up for this before setting out clearly what the full album release options look like.
For that reason and others, even if they did re-release Rome there's no chance it'd include any TLD-related material. Personally I wouldn't want to see it in that context anyway.
Unfortunately the ultra high standard of performance in Rome would only highlight the less-than-perfect nature of the TLD renditions if placed side by side. Not going to happen.
The reason I brought up the mastering for this release is that, in order to do a new remastering, one would have to have the master tapes.
But is it really a new remastering? The Burning Shed website just says digitally remastered, so I'm not certain that the master tapes would be needed to cobble together this dodgy release.
Either way, I definitely won't be buying it.
I’m still quite curious as to who did the new remastering for this release, though - if Nick didn’t do it, who did? 🤷♂️
I may well be wrong but I believe Nick mainly does remixing, as opposed to remastering?
Indeed that was where the 5.1 versions went pear shaped: Nick's rather good remixing was wrecked by extreme compression in the remastering process that he had no involvement in.
Is this likely to be the same material that Nick Davis was recently teasing us with re a forthcoming release?
It's so interesting to me that Tony wrote such great "solo" songs for Genesis......yet his material on his solo albums frequently lacked that certain something. I guess it shows the influence of the other members of Genesis is making suggestions here and there when Tony would bring in a solo song for consideration.
My thoughts exactly. Some very good solo stuff but, sadly, never as fantastic as I expected.
That of course highlights the benefit of the group structure to get the best collective output from the individual inputs.
Surely they won't want to miss the Christmas period.
Phil himself wrote that ALL Genesis rehearsals were recorded. He wrote it in 2004. I just don't know if it's audio or video. And I'm sure these tapes are now in the Concord archives. I wrote - we are waiting. Concord must definitely get its money back, and there will be something to be released in a year or two. And it's something new that will guarantee a large flow of money. The only question is what.
It's highly unlikely that material such a rehearsal tapes will be part of what Concord have bought.
Also, quite a few large song catalogues from major artists have been bought over recent years by the 'financiers'. I don't see any examples of them releasing the kind of output you are suggesting that Concord will. Believe me, if there was serious money to be made, you'd have seen a flood of product on the market by now.
