Might be, lots of that music to me is like old photos I can only be embarrassed about now and unfortunately Phil was at the forefront of it all. We haven't even mentioned the video yet which oddly enough makes fun of many of the 80s videos tropes.

It's a possible explanation, I was in my 20s during the 80' so I got the brunt of it and what I find is that many of the things that seemed like a good idea at the time, like mullets, Miami Vice or this song, heck, this album in general, apart from a couple of songs, truly weren't.
