RAY WILSON - Change

Album: Change
Working title: ?

Lyrics: Yes
Length: 4:24
Musicians: Ray Wilson, Adam Holzman, Andy Hess, Nir Z., Taj Wyzgowski

Notes: Ray Wilson's first real solo album in 2003 was a bit of a surprise due to its rather acoustic and relaxed mood. Previously, his musical contributions were rather dark and heavy. The title track Change is something of a summer hit and was also a minor single hit in 2003, especially due to the massive airplay. Interestingly, jazz legend Adam Holzman plays on the album and the song - a contact that Nir Z. had arranged. -
10 from my side
Was actually happy Phil did this on his 204 tour., when I saw him in New York and Milwaukee.
I then I was happy Genesis did NOT do this in 2022, after they tried it in Chicago in 2021

The third track within this lunar cycle should be with us soon.
I still wonder if and when we will continue with new music ...

GENESIS - Misunderstanding
Year: 1980
Album: Duke
Working title: ?
Credits: Collins
Lyrics: Yes
Length: 3:13
Musicians: Tony Banks, Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford
Played live: 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, 2021
Cover versions: ?External Content www.youtube.comContent embedded from external sources will not be displayed without your consent.Through the activation of external content, you agree that personal data may be transferred to third party platforms. Notes: The first Collins composition for Genesis was immediately released as a single and became the first hit to scratch the Top 10 (#14 at the time). The song was written as part of the Face Value Sessions, but the basic feeling is more of a funky pop song, albeit with a theme of emotional pain. In 2004, Collins even played ‘his song’ with horns during his First Final Farewell Tour in the USA, then Genesis revisited the track briefly in Chicago during their The Last Domino? Tour... -

Following the albums poll about Phil Collins and Genesis, we'd like to do the favorite tracks poll also for PETER GABRIEL.
This one is about his soundtrack for "The last Temptation Of Christ", also known as "Passion".
Passion actually was released 35 years ago today, on 5 June 1989 (which also is the birthday of the Real World label).
This is our review about Passion: https://genesis-news.com/c-Pet…hrist-CD-review-s313.html

STEVE HACKETT - Taking You Down
Year: 2024
Album: The Circus And The Nightwhale
Working title: ?
Credits: Hackett, King
Lyrics: Yes
Length: 4:17
Musicians: Steve Hackett, Roger King, Nad Sylvan, Jonas Reingold, Craig Blundell, Amada Lehmann

Notes: It doesn't happen too often, but Nad Sylvan sings this song on the latest studio album The Circus And The Nightwhale. While the album follows a concept, Taking You Down also works on his own. In our review Christoph Laakmann says: "Taking You Down is a wide-legged rocker that develops a good drive. In this song, Hackett processes the memory of a childhood friend of the difficult but exciting "bad guy" variety. Nad Sylvan's distorted vocals create an atmosphere of cool aggression, and Hackett fingers a solo as if it was a belated application for the successor to Ritchie Blackmore in Deep Purple. It's fun, seems coherent, but in playing with the traditional hard rock idiom it develops too little of its own to be great."
