    It's also about formats.

For a normal impressin on how 5.1 works, a DVD player and the dts soundtrack on that would do (together with the 5.1 speaker system)

The Genesis albums were released on SACD as well (Super Audio CD), and those discs require a special player (or one which can also play them).

SACD often also have a separate standard CD layer. They are then called SACD Hybrid

All Genesis studio albums were rereleased on SACD-Hybrid/DVD in Europe and CD/DVD elsewhere.

Blu-ray players also play DVDs, so thatÄs not a problem.

Thanks Christian! Yeah I'm a Billy fan...it's more that I do piano as a career and it's been my screen name since high school! haha

    I see...

saw Billy in 2006 ... apparently he doesn't play in Germany that often.

by the way, I will also post your interview with Nic on our German website, including a short German summary.

    Hi Kyle

saw this yesterday and will also put that on our social media channels shortly. Thanks for posting!

PS: Billy Joel fan as well?

Listened to that entire podcast. It had a few good moments, but overall it was average at best. I would love it if someone did a Genesis podcast similar to the Beatle years radio show. Something very in depth about the band only. I subscribe to Tabletop Genesis, which is a good podcast, but they mix in solo. Nothing wrong with that, but I'm not a fan of everyone's output.

you're talking about the Rutherford podcast?

Well, it's more an interview than a podcast so I assume they did not cut a lot out. Tabletop is great! I like their work.

I’m hoping the Philly show, but have Madison Square Garden as a backup. Hopefully it all works out. Christian, you coming stateside for any of the shows?

We will try to see a show or two in the UK, so it's a bit unlikely that we'll do North America we well. Was hoping they'll do that next year, that would have been easier for me.

If I needed to choose, I would be either in New York City or Montreal (as I have good memories of shows there) and Chicago (a friend of mine lives not too far away)

I just got a vinyl copy of Invisible Touch, mind blown! I’ve owned two or three copies of this album on CD in my lifetime, never realized the front of the album cover is textured! Easily amused I guess. I must say I’m impressed with the 180 gram remastered series of vinyl. Very sleek. I like the glossy finish on the sleeves.

this is something for the vinylists ;)

I do prefer the power of the 5.1 mix, that I like a lot. Still not in my top 3, this album.

We have expected that (this is why)

GENESIS have just announced the North American leg of the tour (see our tour dates page for details, to be updated shortly after 4pm CET)

Yes, saw this on YouTube a while ago. A wonderful version! But of course it looks like all has been recorded prior to the airing, so it's not really live (which doesn't affect the quality of this version in any form)

I also think his New Blood version is extremely strong. It's kind of the opposite to the othe rlive versions, as it starts limited and ends with many instruments.

A song that really touches me!

Not sure how many of you know this video. It's just a wonderful piece of (Genesis) history.

    enjoy ... and comment

    My Invisible Touch playlist is:

    Do The Neurotic

    Land Of Confusion

    Tonight Tonight Tonight

    Throwing It All Away

    Feeding The Fire

    Domino

    Anything She Does

    The Brazilian

problem is: I have lost the album title :D

I became a fan just before WCD came out, simply because I was young at the time. So I moved backwards through their catalogue and found something everywhere on each album. Obviously I became a big fan and I still am. I also know people who became fans in 2006/2007.

For me, an album like Invisible Touch opened many doors for the band, especially more people discovering their early days. A lot of them became fans. But of course those million sellers often attract people who just consume and don't become fans.

Then again, you have the live shows. Hardcore fans are a minority there when the band sells out 18,000 seats in an arena. So they obviously feel the need to balance the set. Which they managed quite well in 2007.

For this / next year, I just hope they are brave enough to surprise us all.
